Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki perangkat stylistik yang digunakan oleh pembuat komik di `Politik Santun Dalam Kartun 2` dalam membentuk karakteristik SBY. Hal ini juga bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterkaitan antara gambar dan perangkat gaya strip komik `Politik Santun Dalam Kartun 2` oleh Muhammad Mice Misrad dalam membentuk karakteristik SBY. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori Goris Keraf (2008) dan Kress dan Van Leeuwen (2014). Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah beberapa mode dalam teks dan gambar. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pengurangan data dalam mengumpulkan data dengan menggunakan teori dari Moleong (2014). Peneliti menemukan delapan jenis gaya yang digunakan dalam strip komik. Mereka adalah dongeng, pertanyaan retoris, hiperbola, personifikasi, asyndeton, apostrof, antonomasia, metafora, dan apophasis. Namun pertanyaan retoris adalah gaya yang digunakan dalam sebagian besar strip komik. Ada tiga data yang dapat diklasifikasikan sebagai pertanyaan retoris. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti juga menemukan bagaimana gambar menciptakan makna dengan menganalisis makna representasional, orientasi dan presentasi berdasarkan pada teori kress dan van leeuwen dari setiap strip komik. Peneliti menemukan bahwa pembuat strip komik membuat gambar tidak hanya sebagai elemen independen tetapi juga sebagai elemen yang menciptakan seluruh konsep bersama dengan teks. Semua gambar dalam strip komik mencerminkan apa arti pembuat strip komik dalam teks yang diciptakannya, sebaliknya. Semua komik dalam penelitian ini didasarkan pada peristiwa sebenarnya sehingga pembaca juga dapat menafsirkan makna strip komik dari informasi tambahan untuk mengingatkan mereka tentang apa yang sebenarnya terjadi. Dalam membentuk karakter Presiden SBY dalam komik strip `Politik Santun Dalam Kartun 2` Gambar saling terkait dengan teks menciptakan makna yang dapat dipahami oleh pemirsa melalui perwakilan, orientasi dan presentasi. Gambar menjelaskan dan mendukung makna teks dan sebaliknya.
English Abstract
This study is aimed to investigate the stylistic devices used by comic maker in “Politik Santun dalam Kartun 2” in shaping SBY’s characteristics. It is also aimed to know the interrelation between image and stylistic devices of comic strips “Politik Santun dalam Kartun 2”by Muhammad Mice Misrad in shaping SBY’s characteristic. This study used the theory of Goris Keraf (2008) and Kress and van Leeuwen (2014). The approach of this study is descriptive qualitative. The data used in this study is multiple modes within text and image. The research used data reduction technique in collecting the data by using the theory from Moleong (2014). The researcher found eight types of style used in the comic strip. They are fable, rhetorical question, hyperbole, personification, asyndeton, apostrophe, antonomasia, metaphor, and apophasis. However rhetorical question is the style that is used in most of the comic strips. There are three data that can be classified as rhetorical question. In this research, the researcher also found how the image create the meaning by analyzing representational, orientational and presentational meaning based on Kress and van Leeuwen theory from each comic strips. The researcher found that the comic strip maker create the image not only as the independent element but also as the element that creates the whole concept alongside with the text. All the image in the comic strip reflect what the comic strip maker means in the text he creates, vice versa. All the comic strip in this research are based on the true event so the reader can also interprets the comic strip meaning from the additional information to remind them about what actually happen. In shaping the character of president SBY in comic strip “Politik Santun dalam Kartun 2” the image interrelated with the text creates the meaning that can be understood by the viewer trough the representational, orientational and presentational meaninng. The image explains and supports the meaning of the text and vice versa.
