Abstract
Penulis melakukan penelitian tentang URIP IKU URUP yang diucapkan oleh Semar sebagai istilah filosofis. Urup IKU dianalisis dengan menggunakan CDA berdasarkan analisis teks dan interpretasi dari tiga dimensi CDA. Ada dua masalah penelitian, yaitu (1) apa arti URIP IKU URUP yang diucapkan oleh Semar berdasarkan analisis teks dalam model CDA Fairclough?. (2) Apa interpretasi para peserta terhadap saran URIP IKU URUP?. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan penelitian kualitatif karena data dalam bentuk deskriptif. Sumber data diambil dari sepuluh saran bijak Semar yang merupakan URIP IKU URUP dan dari hasil wawancara yang dilakukan oleh peneliti terhadap peserta yang dipilih. Peneliti menemukan bahwa dalam analisis tekstual, URIP IKU URUP dalam bahasa Jawa dan dianggap di tingkat NGOKO. Selain itu, istilah filosofis hanya terdiri dari tiga kata saja, dan dianggap sebagai saran terpendek dibandingkan dengan sembilan istilah filosofis lainnya. Ini juga memiliki pengaturan yang tepat karena para peserta dapat memahami makna istilah filosofis. Kemudian, dalam analisis struktur, istilah filosofis dalam bentuk aktif. Sintragmatis, tiga kata dari saran memiliki posisi dan fungsi mereka sendiri. Dalam analisis paradigmatik, ketiga kata itu tidak dapat diganti oleh sinonim karena akan membuat makna berbeda. Dalam analisis diskursif, interpretasi para peserta masih sejalan dengan gagasan Semar yang menguntungkan. Secara umum, itu disebabkan latar belakang budaya yaitu Jawa yang mengikat para peserta. Peneliti menunjukkan bahwa para peneliti berikutnya juga harus mengeksplorasi studi budaya dengan menggunakan teori-teori lain seperti ucapan pidato pada pragmatik untuk memperkuat analisis di CDA. Saran lain, para peneliti berikutnya juga diharapkan dapat menganalisis ketentuan filosofis lainnya dari Semar.
English Abstract
The writer conducted a study about Urip Iku Urup uttered by Semar as a philosophical term.Urip Iku Urup is analyzed by using CDA based on text analysis and interpretation from three dimensions of CDA. There are two problems of the study, those are (1) What are the meaning of Urip Iku Urup uttered by Semar based on text analysis in Fairclough’s model of CDA?; (2) What are the interpretations of the participants towards the advice Urip Iku Urup?. In this study, the writer uses qualitative research because the data is in the form of descriptive. The source of data was taken from ten semar’s wise advices which is Urip Iku Urup and from the result of interview conducted by researcher towards the selected participants. The researcher found that in textual analysis, Urip Iku Urup is in Javanese language and it is considered in ngoko level. Moreover, the philosophical term consists of three words only, and considered as the shortest advice compared with the other nine philosophical terms. It also has the proper arrangement since the participants could understand the meaning of the philosophical term. Then, in structure analysis, the philosophical term is in active form. Syntagmatically, the three words of the advice have their own possition and function. In paradigmatic analysis, those three words cannot be replaced by the synonym since it will make the meaning different. In discursive analysis, the interpretations of the participants were still in line with the idea of Semar which is about being beneficial. Generally, it is due to the cultural background that is Javanese which bounds the participants. The researcher suggests that the next researchers should also explore cultural study by using the other theories such as speech act in pragmatics to strengthen the analysis in CDA. Another suggestion, the next researchers are also expected to analyze the other philosophical terms of Semar.
