Abstract

Saat ini, bahasa menjadi alat komunikasi untuk berbagi ide, informasi, dan interaksi bagi manusia. Sebagai salah satu aspek dalam bahasa, kesopanan adalah cara untuk membantu orang melakukan percakapan yang baik dalam setiap komunikasi tanpa kesalahpahaman antara lain. Strategi ini digunakan untuk meminimalkan FTA yang terjadi antara pembicara dan penerima. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi FTA dan kesopanan yang digunakan oleh Petugas Hubungan Tamu kepada para tamu VIP di Hotel Santika Premiere Malang. Ada dua masalah yang akan dijawab: (1) Apa yang dilakukan FTA oleh Petugas Hubungan Tamu kepada para tamu VIP di Hotel Santika Premiere Malang. (2) Apa jenis strategi kesopanan yang digunakan oleh petugas hubungan tamu kepada para tamu VIP di Hotel Santika Premier Malang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif karena menganalisis ucapan percakapan antara para tamu gro dan VIP di Santika Hotel. Ada 40 ucapan yang akan dianalisis dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada dua jenis FTA yang digunakan oleh go, yaitu tindakan mengancam wajah positif dan negatif. Dia melakukan FTA selama 40 kali. 5 kali dari Undang-Undang Mengancam Wajah Positif, dan 35 kali Undang-Undang Mengancam Wajah Negatif. Undang-undang ancaman wajah 5 kali positif membawa kabar buruk kepada penerima, dan 35 kali Undang-Undang Mengancam Wajah Negatif menawarkan, pengingat, saran, janji, dan pujian. GRO juga menerapkan 40 kali strategi kesopanan. 27 kali kesopanan positif, dan 13 kali kesopanan negatif. 27 Strategi Positif Positif adalah pemberitahuan, penawaran, lelucon, memberikan hadiah, dan 13 strategi kesopanan negatif meminta maaf, memberikan rasa hormat, dan meniru pembicara. Kesimpulannya, The Gro memperlakukan para tamu dengan tindakan mengancam wajah positif dan negatif, dan dia melakukan tindakan mengancam wajah negatif lebih sering daripada tindakan mengancam wajah positif, sedangkan gol hanya menggunakan kesopanan positif dan negatif, dan strategi kesopanan yang paling sering ditemukan adalah kesopanan positif. Ini berarti bahwa dia ingin membuat hubungan yang baik dan lebih dekat dengan tamu VIP. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menyarankan untuk peneliti berikutnya untuk melakukan penelitian ini dengan objek yang berbeda, dan teori untuk memperkaya pengetahuan bagi pembaca.

English Abstract

Nowadays, language becomes a tool of communication to share the ideas, information, and interaction for human being. As one of the aspects in language, politeness is a way to help people make a good conversation in every communication without misunderstanding among others. This strategy is used to minimize the FTA that happen between speaker and the addressee. This study is aimed to analyze FTA and politeness strategies used by Guest Relation Officer to the VIP guests in Hotel Santika Premiere Malang. There are two problems to be answered: (1) What are the FTA’s performed by Guest Relation Officer to the VIP Guests in Hotel Santika Premiere Malang; (2) What are the types of politeness strategies used by Guest Relation Officer to the VIP Guests in Hotel Santika Premier Malang. This study uses qualitative approach since it analyzes the utterances of conversation between GRO and VIP guests in Santika Hotel. There are 40 utterances to be analyzed in this study. The result shows that there are two kinds of FTA that used by the GRO, namely positive and negative face threatening act. She did the FTA for 40 times; 5 times of positive face threatening act, and 35 times of negative face threatening act. The 5 times of positive face threatening act is bringing a bad news to the addressee, and the 35 times of negative face threatening act are offer, reminder, suggestion, promise, and compliment. The GRO also applied 40 times of politeness strategies; 27 times of positive politeness, and 13 times of negative politeness. The 27 positive politeness strategies are notice, offer, joke, give gift, and the 13 negative politeness strategies are apologize, give deference, and impersonalize speaker. In conclusion, the GRO treats the guests with both positive and negative face threatening act, and she performs negative face threatening act more often than positive face threatening act, while the GRO only uses positive and negative politeness, and the most frequent politeness strategies found is positive politeness. It means that she wants to make a good relationship and to be closer with the VIP guests. In this study, the researcher suggests for the next researcher to conduct this study with different object, and theories to enrich the knowledge for the readers.
