Abstract

Percakapan atau dialog perlu koheren untuk membuat pembicara dan pembaca berkomunikasi dengan baik. Namun, aturan koherensi dapat dilanggar jika seseorang nyamakan pepatah Grice. Baru-baru ini ada video yang muncul Mulan Jameela dan Deddy Corbuzier memiliki dialog bersama. Penelitian ini berfokus pada ucapan Jameela ketika menjawab pertanyaan Corbuzier. Dua masalah penelitian diformulasikan: (1) Apa yang dilakukan pepatah dalam jawaban Mulan Jameela atas pertanyaan Deddy Corbuzier. (2) Bagaimana koherensi dipekerjakan dalam pepatah yang ditolak dalam jawaban Mulan Jameela atas pertanyaan Deddy Corbuzier. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan dengan mengunduh video di youtube.com. Data penelitian ini adalah ucapan Jameela ketika menanggapi pertanyaan Corbuzier. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Jameela mendebut semua pepatah yang merupakan maksim kuantitas, pepatah kualitas, pepatah relevansi, dan pepatah cara yang disajikan dalam 35 data (dalam bentuk dialog). Penelitian ini juga mengungkapkan bahwa ketika Jameela mendentur pepatah saat dia dipertanyakan oleh Corbuzier dalam video, Jameela tidak koheren karena dia memecah aspek-aspek koherensi yang merupakan pemisah (terkait dengan tidak adanya sekuitur), kelengkapan (memberikan bukti) , dan konsistensi (tentang konsistensi logis). Misalnya, ketika Jameela ditanyai tentang contoh pencemaran nama baik, ia menambahkan masa lalunya alih-alih memberikan jawaban yang tepat dari konteks yang ditanyakan. Itu membuatnya flout maksim kuantitas dan tidak koheren pada saat yang sama sejak ia memecahkan aspek konsistensi. Peneliti menyarankan para peneliti berikutnya melakukan penelitian lapangan daripada menganalisis objek yang dilakukan. Kedua, peneliti menyarankan para peneliti berikutnya menganalisis melalui maxim non-ketaatan lain untuk memperkaya referensi analisis wacana terutama koherensi dan prinsip koperasi.

English Abstract

A conversation or dialogue needs to be coherent in order to make the speaker and the reader communicate well. However, coherence rule can be broken if a person flouts Gricean maxims. Recently there is a video appearing Mulan Jameela and Deddy Corbuzier having a dialogue together. This research focuses on Jameela’s utterances when answering Corbuzier’s questions. Two problems of the study are formulated: (1) What are flouted maxims in Mulan Jameela’s answers to Deddy Corbuzier’s questions; (2) How is coherence employed in the flouted maxims in Mulan Jameela’s answers to Deddy Corbuzier’s questions. This study used qualitative approach. The data were collected by downloading the video on Youtube.com. The data of this study were Jameela’s utterance when responding Corbuzier’s question. The result shows that Jameela flouts all of the maxims which are maxim of quantity, maxim of quality, maxim of relevance, and maxim of manner that are presented in 35 data (in the form of dialogue). This study also reveals that when Jameela flouts the maxims as she is being questioned by Corbuzier in the video, Jameela is not being coherent because she breaks the coherence aspects which are separability (related to the absence of non sequiturs), completeness (giving evidence), and consistency (concerning logical consistency). For example, when Jameela is questioned about the example of the libel, she adds her past instead of giving the exact answer of the context being asked. That makes her flout maxim of quantity and incoherent at the same time since she breaks the consistency aspects. The researcher suggests the next researchers conduct a field research rather than analyzing the done object. Second, the researcher suggests the next researchers analyze through another non-observance maxims in order to enrich the reference for Discourse Analysis especially Coherence and Co-operative Principle.
