Abstract
Manusia adalah makhluk sosial, oleh karena itu mereka berinteraksi satu sama lain. Sistem sosial dibuat untuk menjaga keseimbangan di masyarakat. Penulis tertarik untuk menganalisis sistem sosial yang tercermin dalam film yang disebut divergen. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori fungsional struktural dari Emile Durkheim. Selain itu, untuk mendukung proses analisis, penulis menggunakan teori mise-en-adegan untuk membantu penulis menganalisis beberapa adegan dalam film berjudul DIVERMENT. Untuk melaksanakan penelitian ini, penulis melakukan beberapa tahap untuk mendapatkan data. Setelah menganalisis film ini, penulis menemukan dua sistem sosial, yaitu solidaritas mekanis dan solidaritas organik yang terkandung dalam film divergent. Tujuan masyarakat menerapkan sistem sosial tersebut adalah dengan menjaga keseimbangan di masyarakat. Penulis menyimpulkan bahwa kedua sistem sosial tersebut diwakili dalam divergen, yaitu solidaritas mekanis dan solidaritas organik. Dari solidaritas itu, hanya solidaritas mekanis yang berjalan dengan lancar. Sementara solidaritas organik tidak berjalan dengan lancar karena deviasi sosial. Ada beberapa saran yang penulis berikan untuk penelitian selanjutnya karena ada beberapa aspek yang tidak dapat diteliti oleh penulis dalam penelitian ini. Selain itu, untuk peneliti berikutnya, penulis menyarankan untuk menerapkan teori lain, seperti pendekatan eko-kritik untuk menganalisis lingkungan yang dapat dilihat dalam film ini.
English Abstract
Humans are social being, therefore they interact with one another. Social system created to maintain the balance in the society. The writer interested in analyzing social systems which are reflected in the movie called Divergent. This study uses structural functional theory from Emile Durkheim. In addition, to support the process of analysis, the author uses the Mise-en-scene theory to help the authors analyze some of the scenes in the movie titled Divergent. To carry out this study, the writer conducts a few stages to get the data. After analyzing this film, the writer finds two social systems, namely mechanical solidarity and organic solidarity contained in the film Divergent. The purpose of society applies those social systems is to maintain a balance in society. The writer concludes that those two social systems represented in Divergent, namely mechanical solidarity and organic solidarity. From those solidarities, only mechanical solidarity runs smoothly. While organic solidarity does not run smoothly because of the social deviation. There are some suggestions that the authors give for the next research because there are several aspects that authors cannot examine in this study. Additionally, for the next researcher, the authors suggest to apply other theories, such as eco-criticism approach to analyze the environment that may be seen in this film.
