Abstract
Film adalah salah satu produk budaya populer yang membentuk pemikiran Audiens karena menghadirkan aspek visual kehidupan manusia (Gianetti, 2002). Membuat interpretasi film tidak hanya mencakup analisis tema, sudut pandang, pengaturan tetapi juga fokus pada bagaimana audiens melihat film dalam hubungannya dengan memahami seni film. Ketika film sering terkait dengan karakter, yang dipilih sebagai objek penelitian adalah film berjudul The Roommate. Ini meneliti ini menganalisis dan menggambarkan bagaimana karakter wanita mengalami gangguan bipolar dengan menggunakan teori psikoanalisis .. untuk menganalisis perilaku karakter dalam film teman sekamar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam film teman sekamar, gejala gangguan bipolar muncul dalam karakter wanita yang dibuktikan oleh beberapa adegan yang ditemukan dalam film. Dengan menutupi aspek-aspek tersebut, dapat dilihat dari penelitian ini bahwa korelasi teori psikoanalisis dan gangguan bipolar dapat ditemukan di objek I.E. film teman sekamar.
English Abstract
Film is one of product of popular culture which shapes the think of the audience because it presents the visual aspects of human life (Gianetti, 2002). Making interpretation of film does not only include the analysis of theme, point of view, setting but also focus on how the audience sees film in its relation to understand the art of film. As Film is often related with Character, one chosen as the object of the study is a film titled The Roommate. This researchl analyzes and describe how the woman character experiences bipolar disorder by using Psychoanalysis theory.. to analyze the character behavior in The Roommate Film. The result of the research shows that in The Roommate film, the symptoms of bipolar disorder appear in the woman character it is proved by some scenes found in the film. By covering those aspects, it can be seen from this research that the correlation of Psychoanalysis theory and Bipolar disorder can be found in the object i.e. The Roommate Film.
