English Abstract
From Infotainment “Kita dan Peristiwa” page in Kartini magazines 2012 edition language phenomenon like word formation process can be found. Magazine provides many Information about recent trend or life style. Infotainment can be a part of the articles both in a newspaper and a magazine. The writer conducted a study about word formation process in Kartini Magazine : (1) Identify word formation processes found in infotainment article in “kita dan peristiwa” page of Kartini Magazine (2) Find out types of word formation processes that frequently appear in infotainment article in “kita dan peristiwa” page of Kartini Magazine . The theory of this research is from Yule (2010). The writer used qualitative approach deals with data that are in the form of words as the findings and all of the data in findings will be presented and discussed descriptively. This study revealed word formation processes which were found in infotainment “Kita dan Peristiwa” page at Kartini Magazine 2012 Editions. Based on the findings that are presented in previous chapter the writer found word formation processes in Infotainment Articles “Kita dan Peristiwa”. Based on the finding of this research the researcher finds that there were 53 terms of Borrowing process, 17 terms of Acronyms process , 10 terms of derivation process and 2 terms of compounding process. The writer suggests the next researcher to use morphology field in the word formation process is beneficial research because it takes an important part of the word formation in language
