Abstract
Lagu adalah salah satu contoh literatur. Dengar lagu membuat orang menikmati aktivitas, tetapi pendengar tidak bisa mendapatkan kesenangan jika mereka tidak mengerti bahasa kiasan yang biasa ditemukan dalam lagu. Lagu memiliki arti dari bahasa kiasan. Berdasarkan alasannya, itu membawa penulis tesis untuk menganalisis bahasa figuratif. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menganalisis bahasa figuratif dalam lirik lagu Jason Mraz. Penulis menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dan analisis konten untuk menjawab masalah penelitian. Tiga lagu diambil secara acak sebagai sampel penelitian oleh random sampling. Lagu-lagu itu adalah milikmu, aku tidak akan menyerah, Wordplay. Dalam menganalisis lirik, penulis menggunakan pendekatan objektif. Setelah menyelesaikan penelitian, penulis menemukan bahwa jenis bahasa figuratif yang ada dalam lirik lagu Jason MRAZ. Hasil analisis lagu ada 21 line figurative figurative ditemukan dalam tiga lagu album Jason MRAZ. Dari 21 liris, ada metafora 9 item atau (9%), simile 3 item atau (3%), hiperbola 5 item atau (5%), pengulangan 3 item atau (3%), dan personifikasi 1 item atau (1%) ). Dapat diindikasikan bahwa jenis bahasa figuratif yang dominan dalam tiga lagu Jason Mraz Lyric adalah metafora. Penyanyi itu menjelaskan keadaan, dibandingkan dengan hal-hal yang pada dasarnya langsung. Akhirnya, hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi pengetahuan tambahan untuk penelitian lebih lanjut untuk memahami atau mempelajari lebih lanjut tentang bahasa figuratif dalam menganalisis lirik lagu. Pertama, penulis merekomendasikan penelitian lebih lanjut tertarik untuk melakukan penelitian tentang bahasa figuratif untuk dipelajari tentang literatur untuk memahami bahasa figuratif dalam lirik. Kedua, penulis menyarankan audiens untuk memahami arti kata-kata yang terkandung dalam lirik lagu.
English Abstract
Song is one example of literature. Listen song is make people enjoy activity, but the listeners cannot get a pleasure if they do not understand the figurative language that commonly found in the song. Song has meaning of figurative language. Based on the reason, it brings the writer of the thesis to analyze the figurative language. In this research, the writer analyzed figurative language in song lyrics of Jason Mraz. The writer used qualitative research and content analysis in order to answer the research problems. Three songs are randomly drawn as the sample of the study by random sampling. Those songs are I’m Yours, I Won’t Give Up, Wordplay. In analyzing the lyrics, the writer is uses objective approach. After completing the study, the writer found out that the existing kinds of figurative language in the lyrics of Jason Mraz songs. The result of analysis song there are 21 line figurative language finds in three song of Jason Mraz album. From 21 lyric, there are metaphor 9 items or (9%), simile 3 items or (3%), hyperbole 5 items or (5%), repetition 3 items or (3%), and personification 1 item or (1%). It can be indicated that the dominant type of figurative language in the three of song Jason Mraz lyric is metaphor. The singer explain circumstances, to comparison made between things which are essentially directly. Finally, the results of this study could be an additional knowledge for further research to understand or learn more about figurative language in analyzing the lyrics of song. First, the writer recommend further research is interested in doing research on figurative language to be learned about literature in order to understand figurative language in the lyrics. Second, the writer advised the audience to understand the meaning of words contained in the song lyrics.
