Abstract

Informasi tentang siswa kelas VIII D di SMP Shalahuddin mengalami kesulitan menulis teks ulasan. Hal itu dipertegas dari nilai siswa yang belum memenuhi KKM. Keterbatasan media pembelajaran menjadikan siswa cenderung bosan mengikuti pembelajaran dan sulit dalam menuangkan ide. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk media pembelajaran guna membantu kesulitan belajar siswa dalam menulis teks ulasan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif jenis pengembangan yang mengadaptasi model Borg & Gall yang terdiri dari sepuluh tahapan. Data penelitian ini berupa angka dan deskripsi kalimat dari hasil wawancara, angket kebutuhan siswa, dan angket validasi. Analisis data berupa data proses pengembangan dan implementasi. Hasil analisis data tahap pengembangan produk I aspek isi materi 53,75% bermakna cukup valid karena indikator, tujuan, dan materi belum sesuai. Aspek kebahasaan 41,66% bermakna cukup valid karena bahasa belum terkonsep. Aspek tampilan 77,08% berkategori valid disebabkan warna dan huruf kurang menarik. Hasil uji coba awal 74,22% bermakna valid karena media menyenangkan. Pada produk II analisis aspek isi materi 68,17% berkategori valid karena materi sulit dipahami dan kurang sistematis. Aspek kebahasaan 65,62% bermakna valid disebabkan kesalahan penulisan EYD. Aspek tampilan 87,5% bermakna sangat valid karena hanya memperbaiki sampul dan warna. Uji coba II diperoleh 89,79% bermakna sangat valid karena media menarik dan menyenangkan. Pada produk III aspek isi materi 95,45% bermakna sangat valid karena media pembelajaran sudah baik. Aspek kebahasaan 90,62% bermakna sangat valid karena hanya terdapat satu kesalahan EYD. Aspek tampilan 91,66% bermakna sangat valid karena media sudah sangat baik. Hasil uji coba III 85,35% bermakna sangat valid karena media memudahkan pembelajaran dan menyenangkan. Dilihat dari peningkatan hasil uji coba yang menunjukkan materi, kebahasaan, dan tampilan sangat baik. Berikutnya dilakukan implementasi pada kelas VIII D. Prapengembangan memperoleh rata-rata 60,97%, sedangkan nilai siswa pascapengembangan diperoleh rata-rata 82,08%. Hal tersebut menunjukkan media Flip Chart berbasis gambar berpengaruh terhadap pembelajaran menulis teks ulasan.

English Abstract

The students of VIII D class in SMP shalahudin had difficulties on learning writing of review text. It was strenghten from the students’ score that had not raise the KKM. The lack of teaching media made the students felt bored to join the lesson and felt difficult to show their idea. This research aim to produce a teaching media to help students in writing the review text. This research is is a descriptive qualitative research where the development adapted the borg and gall model consisting of ten stages. The data of the research is a numeral and description from the result of interview, students’ questionnaire, and validation sheet. The data analysis on the development of the product in phase 1 from 53,75% aspect of the material’s content was quite valid because of the indicator, the purpose, and unappropriate material. Language aspect 41,66% is quiet enough valid because the language had not concepted yet. Display aspect 77,08% was quiet valid because the color and the letter had less attractive. The first try-out result 774,22% was good valid because the media was interesting. On the II product analysis of material content aspect 68,17% was good valid because the material was difficult to be understood and less systematic. The language aspect 65,62% was valid because the writing error on EYD. The display aspect 87,5% was very valid due to the cover and color. The II try-out acquired 89,79% means very valid because the media was interesting and attractive. On the product III material content aspect 95,45 means very valid because the teaching media was good. The language aspect 90,62% means very valid cause only one EYD’s error. The display aspect 91,66% means valid because the teaching media was quite good. The III try-out 85,35% means very valid because the media showed the material, language aspect, and good display. Next, implementing the media toward VIII D class. Before developing the media, the researcher acquired 60,97% where the students’ score after developing the media acquired 82,08%. It showed that flip chart media with picture-based affected on learning writing of review text.
