Abstract
Penelitian ini membahas tentang terbentuknya aliansi yang terjadi antara India dan Amerika Serikat yang melalui Logistic Exchange Memorandum of Agreement (LEMOA). Aliansi yang terbentuk merupakan salah satu bentuk aliansi tradisional yang dilakukan karena adanya sensitivitas antara negara India dan Cina. Amerika Serikat merupakan negara yang dianggap mampu untuk mengawasi dan menekan aktifitas Cina dalam bentuk perdagangan yang disertai dengan penjagaan ketat angkatan laut militer Cina. Hal ini dapat dianalisa dengan teori milik Stephen M.Walt yaitu Balance of Threat yang diantaranya memiliki 4 konsep utama yaitu Source of Threat, Strong vs Weak State, Availability of Allies, dan Peace and War. Konsep Stephen M.Walt membantu penulis menganalisa mengapa India melakukan aliansi dengan Amerika Serikat sebagai bentuk Balancing serta menganalisa penyebab aliansi India dan Amerika Serikat melalui terbentuknya perjanjian LEMOA.
English Abstract
This research discusses about Alliance between India and United States through agreement which named Logistic Exchange Memorandum of Agreement (LEMOA). Formed Alliance between two states is one of the traditional form of Alliance which is formed because sensitivity precense between India and China. United States is the states whose can considered to observe and suppress increased activity China in the form of trading activity which accompanied by Naval Military of China. This matter can be analyzed with Stephen M.Walt Balance of Threat theory, which is divided with four concept, those of which is Source of Threat, Strong vs Weak State, Availability of Allies, and Peace and War. Those concept can help author to analyzed and answer about why India holding alliance with United States as form of Balancing, while also analyzing alliance between India and United States through LEMOA agreement.
