Abstract

ebagai salah satu aspek yang ditekankan pada Kurikulum 2013, pencapaian kompetensisikap siswa menjadi hal yang penting dalam proses pembelajaran. Untuk membantu guru dalam melaksanakan penilaian kompetensi sikap siswa, telah banyak dikemukakan metode-metode penilaian sikap. Namun, pada kenyataanya masih banyak guru bahasa Inggris yang mengalami kesulitan dalam menjalankan penilaian tersebut. Oleh karena itu, guru bahasa Inggris harus lebih meningkatkan kompetensinya dengan menjalankan strategi-strategi untuk melakukan penilaian sikap yang baik. Melalui studi ini, penulis melakukan penelitian tentang penilaian kompetensi sikap siswa pada implementasi Kurikulum 2013 di SMA Brawijaya Smart School (BSS) Malang dengan mengajukan pertanyaan mengenai strategi apayang digunakan oleh guru bahasa Inggris dalam menjalankan penilaian sikap siswa. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif untuk menjabarkan deskripsi tentang penilaian kompetensi sikap siswa pada implementasi Kurikulum 2013. Pendekatan tersebut juga diterapkan untuk menganalisa strategi yang digunakan oleh guru bahasa Inggris dalam menjalankan penilaian sikapsiswa.Hasil studi dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa beberapa metode dilakukan oleh guru bahasa Inggris dalam melakukan penilaian sikap ini, antara lain: metode penilaian diri sendiri, penilaian teman sejawat dan penilaian guru. Selain itu, ada lima hal yang dijadikan pertimbangan oleh guru tersebut untuk menjalankan penilaian sikap yang baik. Hasil studi ini juga menunjukan bahwa penggunaan rumus-rumus komputer pada Microsoft Excel membantu guru dalam memproses hasil dari penilaian sikap siswa. Pada penerapan penilaian ini, guru bahasa Inggris tersebut juga melakukan beberapa modifikasi pada bentuk instrumen dan metode yang digunakandari teori yang sudah dikemukakan oleh Kurikulum 2013. Sebagai saran untuk guru bahasa Inggris dan peneliti selanjutnya, studi ini bisa digunakan sebagai referensi untuk menjalankan penilaian sikap siswa pada proses pembelajaran bahasa Inggris atau untuk mengembangkan metode-metode penilaian sikap siswa mengingatmasih memungkinkan untuk menemukan metode-metode baru sejalan dengan perkembangan dunia pendidikan

English Abstract

As one of emphasized aspects in Curriculum 2013, students’ affective competence achievement is essential in the teaching and learning process. Methods of assessing students’ affective aspect have been introduced to help teachers in assessing the students’ competences in learning English. In fact, there are still some English teachers who find difficulties in conducting this assessment. Therefore, the English teachers need to be more competent in applying strategies in order to conduct good affective assessment. By this study, the writer conducts research about the students’ affective assessment in the implementation of Curriculum 2013 in SMA Brawijaya Smart School (BSS) Malang by addressing the question of what strategies the English teacher use in assessing students’ affective assessment. This study uses descriptive qualitative as the approach in explaining the complex descriptions of students’ affective assessment in the implementation of Curriculum 2013. Descriptive study is applied in this study to analyze the strategies that are used by English teacher in assessing the students’ affective aspect. This study reveals that some methods are used by the English teacher in assessing the students’ affective assessment there are: self-assessment, peerassessment and teacher assessment methods. There are also five considerations which are taken by the teacher in conducting the good affective assessment. On the other hand, it has been found that the use of computerized formula in a form of Microsoft Excel helps the teacher most in processing the result of affective assessment. In the implementation of this assessment, the teacher makes some modifications from the theories that have been proposed by Curriculum 2013 in the context of assessment instruments and methods. As the suggestion for the English teachers and further researcher, this study can be used as the reference to conduct the students’ affective assessment in the English teaching and learning process or to develop the methods in assessing the students’ affective aspects since it is possible to discover the other new methods along with the development of education.
