Abstract
Bahasa sangatlah penting bagi setiap anggota masyarakat agar mereka dapat berinteraksi dengan orang lain. Masyarakat sendiri berperan penting dalam menciptakan variasi bahasa karena eberagaman individu dalam suatu masyarakat. Salah satu variasi bahasa adalah jargon. Pada penelitian ini penulis tertarik untuk menganalisa istilah teknologi dan informasi karena pada zaman globalisasi ini, teknologi dan informasi sudah banyak berkembang dan memberikan kontribusi yang besar bagi masyarakat. Dalam penelitian ini. Penulis juga menganalisa pembentukan kata yang terjadi di setiap jargon. Pada penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan majalah PC Media edisi Januari 2013 sebagai obyek dalam penelitian ini. Penulis merumuskan tiga maslah pada penelitian ini sebagi berikut: (1) jargon teknologi informasi apa yang ditemukan di majalah PC Media? (2) tipe proses pembentukan kata apa yang ditemukan di majalah PC Media? dan (3) apa makna dari teknologi informasi jargon yang ditemukan di majalah PC Media?. Penelitian ini menggunakan nalisa teks karena penulis menganalisa teks dari enem artkel yang terdapat di majalah PC Media edisi January 2013 sebagai data. Ada 33 teknologi informasi jargon yang ditemukan. Tipe pembentukan kata yang ditemukan adalah enam proses derivation, tujuh proses multiple, dua prosesacronym, lima proses alphabetic abbreviation, tiga proses compounding, enam proses borrowing indirect, dan empat prosess clipping. Disamping itu, penulis juga menemukan makna dari setiap jargon berdasarkan co-text. Untuk peneliti selanjutnya, penulis menyarankan mereka untuk menggunakan jargon lain untuk dianalisa untuk menembah variasi dalam penelitian. Penulis juga menyarankan peneliti selanjutnya untuk melakukan penelitian lapangan tentang jargon pada komunitas atau hobi tertentu agar bisa memperkaya penelitian.
English Abstract
Language is very important for everyone as the members of society in order to interact with others. Society itself gives contribution in creating language variation since there are multilingual speakers in society. One of the language variations is jargon. In this study, the writer is interested in analyzing information technology jargon because in this globalization era, information technology has developed and given a great contribution toward society. In this study, the writer uses PC Media magazine January 2013 edition as the object of the study focusing on six articles chosen. The writer formulates three problems of the study as follows: (1) what are the information technology jargons found in PC Media magazine, (2) what are the types of word formation processes found in information technology jargons in PC Media magazine? and (3) what is the meaning of derived word of information technology jargons found in PC Media magazine?. This study used textual analysis since the writer analyzed the texts from six articles in PC Media magazine January 2013 edition as the data. There are 33 information technology jargons found. In addition, the types of word formation processes occurred are six derivation processes, seven multiple processes, two acronym processes, five alphabetic abbreviation processes, three compounding processes, six borrowing indirect processes, and four clipping processes. Besides, the writer also found out the meaning of each jargon based on co-text. For further researchers, the writer suggests them to use other jargons to beanalyzed to add the variation of the research. The writer also suggests the next researchers to conduct a field research about jargon in a certain community or certain hobby in order to have the enrichment of the study.
