Abstract
Bahasa merupakan sarana komunikasi. Melalui komunikasi, seseorang dapat menyampaikan ide, perasaan atau apapun terhadap seseorang atau sesuatu. Dalam komunikasi sehari-hari, seseorang tidak hanya memperhatikan apa yang ia katakan saja tetapi juga harus mengetahui bagaimana ia mengutarakan sesuatu untuk menginformasikan atau melakukan sesuatu. Dalam hal ini, penulis mengamati tindak tutur dalam film “The Social Network” yang digunakan oleh tokoh utama. Tindak tutur adalah sebuah ilmu kebahasaan yang mempelajari tentang tindakan dalam ucapan. Ada 3 rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini yaitu (1) tindak lokusi, (2) tindak ilokusi apa saja yang digunakan oleh tokoh utama dalam film The Social Network dan (3) dampak ilokusi (perlokusi) apa saja yang mempengaruhi pendengar dari ujaran tokoh utama dalam film The Social Network. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskripsi dalam bentuk analisis teks untuk menganalisa jenis tindak tutur yang meliputi lokusi, ilokusi dan perlokusi atas ujaran tokoh utama dalam naskah film The Social Network. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga komponen dari tindak tutur termasuk tipe dari tindak tutur tersebut diterapkan dalam film The Social Network. Jenis tindak lokusi yang paling sering digunakan oleh tokoh utama adalah jenis kalimat deklaratif karena ujaran-ujaran tokoh utama bersifat menginformasikan sesuatu kepada pendengar. Sedangkan jenis tindak ilokusi yang paling sering digunakan adalah exercitives – permintaan karena tokoh utama bersifat meminta pendengar untuk melakukan sesuatu. Untuk selanjutnya, jenis tindak perlokusi yang paling sering digunakan adalah tindak tutur yang menunjukkan emosi, seperti ekspresi kemarahan saat pendengar berbicara kepada si pembicara. Penulis menyarankan kepada mahasiswa jurusan bahasa agar mampu mengaplikasikan penelitian ini dalam kehidupan yang nyata, seperti dalam berkomunikasi sehari-hari dengan komunitasnya sehingga mereka bisa memahami konteks ujaran pembicara dengan jelas. Penulis juga menyarankan para peneliti selanjutnya untuk melibatkan lebih dari satu tokoh dalam film agar bisa menghasilkan analisis yang lebih mendalam tentang tindak tutur dan mereka juga bisa mencari subyek yang lain seperti lagu atau komik untuk menambah wawasan berdasarkan analisis tindak tutur.
English Abstract
Language is a means of communication. Through communication, people can express their idea, feeling or things towards someone or something. In daily communication, people do not only concern with what people say but also how people produce utterance in order to inform or do something. In this case, speech acts is important in people’s daily life for communicate to each other. Speech act is a term that covers the action of performed in saying something. In this study, the writer examines speech acts in The Social Network movie used by the main character. There are three problems of the study, namely: (1) How are the locutionary acts lexically realized by the main character’s turns in The Social Network movie, (2) What are the illocutionary acts performed by the main character’s turns in The Social Network movie and (3) How do the illocutionary acts affect the listeners of the main character in The Social Network movie. This study uses qualitative approach. It is a descriptive study in textual analysis to analyze the components of speech acts covering the types of locutionary, illocutionary and perlocutionary acts of the main character’s turns in the script of The Social Network movie. This study reveals that three speech act classifications (locutionary, illocutionary and perlocutionary) containing each types of those three speech acts are applied in the movie. The mostly used type of locutionary acts produced by the main character is declarative sentence because the main character’s utterances are informing something to the listener when they communicate to each other based on the social context in the movie. Meanwhile, the mostly used type of illocutionary acts used is exercitives – requesting because the main character requests the listener to do something. Furthermore, the mostly used type of perlocutionary is showing emotion, such as the expression of anger when the listener speaks toward the speaker. The writer suggests that English Department students are able to apply this study in real life situation, such as in daily conversation with their community in order to understand the context of the speaker’s utterances clearly. She also suggests for the future researchers involve more than one character in a movie to make a deeper analysis on speech acts and they are able to look for the other subjects, such as, song, comic and others to cover broaden study based on speech acts analysis.
