Abstract

Base isolation merupakan suatu metode proteksi gempa dimana superstruktur dipisahkan dari substruktur (pondasi). Base isolation biasanya diterapkan pada kolom dan dinding tepat di atas permukaan pondasi. Penggunaan base isolation dapat mengurangi kebutuhan seismik untuk meningkatkan kapasitas. Konsep ini berbeda dari alternatif lainnya yaitu memperkuat struktur agar tahan terhadap aksi seismik. Pada penelitian ini, Gedung FKG Universitas Brawijaya dijadikan sebagai objek penelitian. Gedung FKG Universitas Brawijaya berlantai 8 yang memiliki sistem struktur ganda (SRPMK dan shearwall). Pada penelitian ini, direncanakan High Damping Rubber Bearing (HDRB) sebagai tipe base isolation yang digunakan. Pemilihan tipe ini didasarkan pada beberapa faktor antara lain memiliki kapasitas pemuatan vertikal yang tinggi, kemampuan pemulihan, dan kemampuan redaman tinggi. Ada dua jenis analisis yang akan dilakukan yaitu analisis respon spektrum dan analisis non-linier statik (pushover) Respon spektrum digunakan untuk menganalisis gaya geser dasar dan simpangan antar lantai dan pushover digunakan untuk mencari level kinerja struktur. Pada penelitian ini, profil HDRB yang digunakan diambil dari katalog Bridgestone yaitu HL110X6R, HL090X6R, dan HL070X6R. Gaya geser base isolation yang dihasilkan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan sebesar 70,39% dari gaya geser SRPMK. Simpangan antar lantai base isolation mengalami penurunan dari SRPMK. Level kinerja yang dihasilkan pada analisis pushover menunjukkan bahwa struktur base isolation dan SRPMK masuk dalam kategori Damage Control (DC). Namun, struktur base isolation hanya berapa sedikit di atas batas terkecil Damage Control. Sedangkan, struktur SRPMK berada hampir menyentuh kategori Life Safety (LS).

English Abstract

Base isolation is a seismic protection method in which the superstructure is separated from the substructure (foundation). Base isolation is typically applied to columns and walls just above the foundation surface. The use of base isolation can reduce seismic demand, thereby decreasing the need to increase structural capacity. This concept differs from other alternatives, which focus on strengthening the structure to withstand seismic forces. In this study, the Faculty of Dentistry Building at Brawijaya University was used as the research object. The building has eight floors and features a dual structural system (Special Moment Resisting Frame and shear wall). High Damping Rubber Bearing (HDRB) was selected as the type of base isolation to be used. This choice was based on several factors, including high vertical load capacity, recovery capability, and high damping ability. Two types of analysis were conducted: response spectrum analysis and nonlinear static (pushover) analysis. Response spectrum analysis was used to evaluate base shear forces and inter-story drift, while pushover analysis was used to determine the structural performance level. In this study, the HDRB profiles used were taken from the Bridgestone catalog, specifically HL110X6R, HL090X6R, and HL070X6R. The base isolation shear force showed a 70.39% increase compared to the SRPMK shear force. The inter-story drift of the baseisolated structure was reduced compared to the SRPMK structure. The performance level obtained from the pushover analysis indicated that both the base-isolated structure and the Special Moment-Resisting Frame structure fell within the Damage Control (DC) category. However, the base-isolated structure was only slightly above the lower boundary of Damage Control, while the SRPMK structure was nearly reaching the Life Safety (LS) category.
