Abstract
Guna melanjutkan penelitian oleh Hakim (2017) dan Purwandi (2022) mengenai corak tren pengkajian studi komunikasi di di Departemen Ilmu Komunikasi FISIP Universitas Brawijaya (Depkom FISIP UB), penelitian tesis ini melanjutkan eksplorasi yang bertajuk pengkajian komunikasi pendidikan dari perspektif terbarukan. Menyambung dari permasalahan atas minimnya kontribusi pengkajian komunikasi pendidikan di Indonesia & komunitas akademik internasional, peneliti berusaha turut meramaikan wacana pengkajian komunikasi pendidikan. Peneliti menerapkan paradigma interpretif dengan metode analisis data interaktif versi Miles, Huberman, dan Saldaña. Temuan penelitian ini meliputi: 1). Kekhasan kurikulum ilmu komunikasi di program sarjana & magister, 2). Peran kompartemen dosen dalam mengembangkan berbagai agenda penelitian komunikasi yang khas, 3). Studi metariset keilmuan di Depkom FISIP UB, 4). Pendapat dosen generasi pertama tentang pentingnya mendorong pendidikan komunikasi yang khas, dan 5). Peran Himpunan Mahasiswa Ilmu Komunikasi UB (Himanika UB) dalam mengadvokasi isu-isu kemahasiswaan. Lima kategori temuan tadi telah dikaji berdasarkan sub-topik yang disahkan dalam jurnal Communication Education kelolaan National Communication Association (NCA). Hasil penelitian ini, apabila merujuk pada esensi kajian komunikasi pendidikan versi Learning Outcomes in Communication-nya NCA, menyatakan bahwa pendidikan di Depkom FISIP UB telah berorientasi untuk mencetak insan yang komunikatif dan bermakna bagi masyarakat. Luarannya, para insan tadi diharapkan dapat menjadi tokoh intelektual yang bijak di berbagai bidang. Serta tidak melupakan kearifan lokal dalam setiap aksi komunikatifnya.
English Abstract
Invoking the previous research by Hakim (2017) and Purwandi (2022) about study pattern of communication studies at the Department of Communication Science FISIP University of Brawijaya (Depkom FISIP UB), this research continues the exploration of communication education studies. Connecting from the problem of the lack in contribution toward communication education studies in Indonesia and the international academic community, I sought to reconcile the discourse of education communication studies. Then, I applied an interpretative paradigm with the interactive data analysis methods of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings of this study include: 1. Specifications of the curriculum of communication science in the undergraduate and master's programmes, 2). The role of the kompartemen dosen in developing particular of typical communication research agendas, 3). Study of scientific metarishes at the Department of FISIP UB, 4). Opinions of the first generation of lecturers on the importance of promoting typical communications education, and 5). The role of the Association of Students of Communication Sciences of the UB (Himanika UB) in advocating the issues of scholarship. Five categories of findings have been examined based on sub-themes validated in the Communication Education journal of the National Communication Association. (NCA). The results of this research, when referring to the essence of the educational communication study of the NCA's Learning Outcomes in Communication version, state that education at the FISIP UB Depkom has been oriented to print people who are communicative and meaningful to society. Outside, the humans were expected to be wise intellectuals in various fields. As well as not forgetting the local wisdom in every communicative action.
