Abstract
Korea Selatan merupakan negara Asia Timur yang terletak di Semenanjung Korea. Korea Selatan dikategorikan salah satu negara maju dengan pendapatan Produk Domestik Bruto sebesar 1,624 miliar pada tahun 2017. Dengan nilai pendapatan yang relatif tinggi membuat Korea Selatan dianggap memiliki pengaruh di kawasan Asia terkhusus Asia Tenggara. Pengaruh ini dipicu oleh adanya New Southern Policy yang diresmikan pada 2017 dengan tujuan untuk memperkuat hubungan dengan negara-negara tetangga yaitu Indo-Pasifik termasuk Indonesia serta adanya penambahan arah kebijakan luar negeri Korea Selatan ke arah Selatan sesuai tujuan dari Presiden Moon Jae In. Dengan menggunakan teori geoekonomi oleh Blackwill dan Harris. Penelitian ini akan membahas dampak kerjasama antara Korea Selatan dan Indonesia, khususnya pada bidang politik dan ekonomi. Melalui kebijakan New Southern Policy, signifikansi kerjasama yang telah terbentuk dengan negara anggota ASEAN termasuk Indonesia menunjukkan peningkatan dengan adanya arus kebutuhan antar negara dalam sektor ekonomi, investasi, hingga energi.
English Abstract
South Korea is an East Asian country located on the Korean Peninsula. South Korea is categorized as one of the developed countries with Gross Domestic Product income of 1.624 billion in 2017. With a relatively high-income value, South Korea is considered to have influence in the Asian region, especially Southeast Asia. This influence was triggered by the New Southern Policy which was inaugurated in 2017 with the aim of strengthening relations with neighboring countries, namely the Indo-Pacific including Indonesia and the addition of South Korea's foreign policy direction towards the South in accordance with the objectives of President Moon Jae In. By using geoeconomic theory by Blackwill and Harris. This study will discuss the impact of cooperation between South Korea and Indonesia, especially in the political and economic fields. Through the New Southern Policy, the significance of the cooperation that has been formed with ASEAN member countries including Indonesia has shown an increase with the flow of needs between countries in the economic, investment, and energy sectors.
