Abstract

PT Agrijaya Indotirta Malang merupakan perusahaan manufaktur yang memiliki kegiatan usaha pengolahan buah nangka menjadi keripik serta menyediakan jasa retail untuk penjualan produk sejenis. Alasan PT Agrijaya indotirta tidak memproduksi keripik dari jenis buah lain adalah karena kondisi pasar yang sudah jenuh dengan produk keripik dari berbagai merek yang ada. Sehingga dengan kualitas produk yang dimiliki perusahaan, akan sulit berkompetisi dalam harga dengan merek lain. Keripik buah-buahan yang merupakan produk PT Agrijaya Indotirta Malang memiliki ketersediaan bahan baku yang bergantung pada musim. Hal ini menyebabkan terhambatnya kegiatan proses produksi ketika bahan baku yang ingin diproduksi tidak tersedia karena belum pada musimnya. Sehingga, perusahaan tetap harus mengeluarkan biaya tetap meskipun tidak ada kegiatan proses produksi. Pada PT. Agrijaya Indotirta, belum ada perencanaan produksi optimal yang diterapkan. Hampir pada setiap bulan Maret sampai Juli, terdapat penurunan jumlah produksi dikarenakan ketidaktersediaanya bahan baku nangka karena belum pada musimnya dan penjadwalan produksi alternatif pengganti kripik nangka belum direncanakan dengan baik. Hal ini juga membuat perusahaan harus memproduksi kripik nangka dalam jumlah besar yang menyebabkan persediaan berlebih. Beberapa permasalahan tersebut membuat perusahaan harus menanggung biaya yang tidak perlu, atau kehilangan potensi keuntungan.

PT Agrijaya Indotirta Malang is a manufacturing company that processes jackfruit into chips and provides retail services for the sale of similar products. The reason PT Agrijaya Indotirta does not produce chips from other types of fruit is because the market condition is already saturated with chips products from various existing brands. So that with the quality of products owned by the company, it will be difficult to compete in prices with other brands. Fruit chips which are a product of PT Agrijaya Indotirta Malang have raw material availability depending on the season. This causes the production process to be hampered when the raw materials to be produced are not available because they are not yet in season. Hence, the company still has to pay fixed costs even though there are no production process activities. At PT. Agrijaya Indotirta, no optimal production plan has been implemented. Almost every March to July, there is a decrease in the amount of production due to the absence of raw material for jackfruit because it is not yet in season and the production schedule for alternative jackfruit chips substitutes has not been well planned. This also forced the company to produce large quantities of jackfruit chips which led to excess supplies. Some of these problems make companies have to bear unnecessary costs, or lose potential profits. In this study, product diversification was implemented into 4 types, namely jackfruit, apple, pineapple, and zalacca chips. Data collection and calculations related to costs, availability of raw materials, and prediction of demand for products to be produced will be carried out on diversification. So that in the period when jackfruit cannot be obtained, the company can still carry out production process activities for other products, in optimized quantities using planned production scheduling using forecasting, as well as optimally allocating production and storage capacity using the linear programming method with the help of add-in software. solver on microsoft excel. By implementing product diversification into 4 products, the number of periods in which unused resources for production process activities is reduced by 2 months. This is because the product diversification implemented has raw materials with different seasons from the initial product of PT. Agrijaya Indotirta so that production process activities can still be carried out when the raw material for jackfruit is not in season. However, the results of this study still show some lack of production activities in certain periods, especially on periods where the raw material for jackfruit cannot be obtained. So, it can be concluded that the results of the application of product diversification in this study were not as effective as the researchers expected. Maximizing company revenue was done by scheduling production process activities effectively and efficiently. In this study, it is concluded that the company's production capacity is significantly higher than product demand. This results in the optimal production planning results obtained by minimizing the inventory level for each period, still leaving a production vacuum in May to July 2020.
