English Abstract
This study was conducted in Technical Implementation Unit and Forage in Garahan Village, Jember District, East Java. The research objective was to determine the appearance of birth and weaning weight based on different ewe parity of Sheep Sapudi. The research material was 123 kids and the method used were survey and observation. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. The result showed that the average birth weight at parity I was 2.88 ± 0.01 kg, parity II was 3.02 ± 0.08 kg, parity III was 3.01 ± 0.06 kg, parity IV was 2.97 ± 0.02 kg. The average weaning weight at parity I was 10.83 ± 0.02 kg, parity II was 12.84 ± 0.19 kg, parity III was 12.03 ± 0 kg, parity 4 was12.24 ± 0.19 kg. The conclusion from this study was the birth and weaning weight were not affected by parity. Parity I had the lowest birth weight as compared to parity II, III and V, while parity II had the highest birth weight figures. The average weaning weight low at parity I, while the highest weaning weight was found at parity II. The results of this study were expected to inform the community in selecting sheep based on the criteria of birth and weaning weight.
