Abstract

Pengolahan tanah perlu dilakukan supaya tanah menjadi gembur. Pengolahan tanah dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan alat tradisional maupun alat dan mesin pertanian (traktor). Pengolahan tanah menggunakan traktor lebih efektif, tetapi dapat menyebabkan pemadatan tanah. Akibat yang dapat dirasakan secara langsung adalah menurunnya produksi tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur dan menganalisis perubahan sifat fisik tanah serta dampak pemadatan tanah akibat lintasan traktor roda empat terhadap pertumbuhan akar tanaman bayam Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini adalah jumlah lintasan traktor yang terdiri dari empat 4 perlakuan serta dilakukan sebanyak 2 kali. Parameter yang digunakan yaitu densitas, porositas, tahanan penetrasi tanah, traksi, slip roda traktor serta waktu pembebanan traktor terhadap tanah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, terjadi perubahan sifat fisik tanah pada perlakuan 0-3 kali lintasan traktor. Makin banyak lintasan mengakibatkan nilai densitas dan tahanan penetrasi tanah semakin besar serta nilai porositas tanah, slip roda traktor dan lamanya waktu pembebanan traktor terhadap tanah semakin rendah. Dampak pemadatan tanah akibat lintasan traktor adalah menurunnya panjang batang, jumlah daun, serta panjang akar tanaman bayam mulai dari perlakuan 0-3 kali lintasan traktor.

English Abstract

Processing of the soil needs to be done so that the soil becomes loose. Tillage can be done using traditional tools as well as tools and agricultural machinery (tractors). Tillage tractor is more effective, but can cause soil compaction. A result that will directly impact crop production is declining. This study aims to measure and analyze changes in the physical properties of the soil as well as the impact of soil compaction due to the four-wheel tractor track on the growth of plant roots of spinach. This research uses descriptive method. The treatment in this study is the number of passes a tractor which consists of four 4 treatments as well done as much as two times. The parameters used are the density, porosity, soil penetration resistance, traction, slip wheel tractor and loading a tractor to the ground. Based on the research results, changes in physical properties of soil in treatment 0-3 times the trajectory of the tractor. The more the track resulting in the density and soil penetration resistance as well as the value the greater the porosity of the soil, tractor wheel slip and the length of time loading the tractor to lower ground. The impact of soil compaction due to a reduction in tractor track rod length, number of leaves and root length spinach plants start of treatment 0-3 times a track tractor.
