Abstract

Setiap perusahaan baik itu perusahaan dagang, perusahaan manufaktur, maupun perusahaan jasa selalu mengadakan persediaan. Persediaan bahan baku dalam perusahaan bertujuan untuk menjamin kelangsungan proses produksi perusahaan. Terlalu sedikitnya persediaan bahan baku akan menyebabkan proses produksi pada suatu perusahaan terhambat, begitupun sebaliknya jika persediaan bahan baku terlalu banyak maka akan terjadi peningkatan biaya penyimpanan serta peningkatan angka kerusakan bahan baku. UD Ultra Mas merupakan industri rumah tangga yang bergerak dalam bidang industri kecil makanan ringan jenis keripik singkong. Produksi UD Ultra Mas ditentukan oleh jumlah ubi kayu yang dikirim oleh pemasok, tidak didasarkan atas jumlah bahan baku yang dibutuhkan untuk memenuhi permintaan pelanggan. Akibatnya jumlah produk jadi keripik singkong UD Ultra Mas melebihi dari jumlah permintaan. Jadi untuk menciptakan persediaan yang efektif dan efisien yang mampu memenuhi permintaan pelanggan maka dalam mengelola persediaan tersebut diperlukan sistem perencanaan Just In Time. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sistem perencanaan persediaan bahan baku dan analisis implementasi konsep Just In Time dalam persediaan bahan baku pada UD Ultra Mas Malang. Lokasi penelitian dilakukan di industri keripik singkong UD Ultra Mas dikarenakan dalam pengadaan bahan baku baku didatangkan ketika akan melakukan kegiatan produksi saja, sesuai dengan prinsip Just In Time bahwa UD Ultra Mas hanya membeli bahan baku pada saat dibutuhkan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Sumber data yang digunakan adalah data sekunder. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sistem perencanaan dan pengendalian persediaan bahan baku yang diterapkan oleh UD Ultra Mas mendekati dengan konsep produksi Just In Time, yaitu berproduksi pada saat yang tepat meski jumlahnya belum tepat. Konsep Just In Time dapat diimplementasikan pada persediaan bahan baku UD Ultra Mas dan dapat menekan biaya pembelian bahan baku dari sebelumnya dikarenakan biaya pemesanan lebih efisien dan jadwal rencana produksi telah dibuat sesuai dengan kebutuhan bahan baku untuk memenuhi pesanan pelanggan.

English Abstract

Every company either a trading companies, a manufacturing companies, or a service companies always need inventory. Inventories of raw materials in the company aims to ensure the continuity of the company’s production process. Too little supply of raw materials will lead to the production process in a company obstructed, including but if the raw materials inventory too much it will be an increase in storage costs and increase the number of damage raw materials. Ultra Mas Inc., is a households industry engaged in the sectors small industry snacks kind of cassava chips. The production of an Ultra Mas Inc., is determined by the amount of cassava supplied by the suppliers, is not based on the amount of raw materials need to meet customers. As a result amount of cassava chips products of Ultra Mas Inc., it exceeds the number of demand. So as to create effective and efficient inventory has been able to meet customer demand, so in managing the inventory, a Just In Time planning system is required. This study aim to determine the raw material inventory planning system and analysis of the implementation of the concept Just In Time in raw material inventory at Ultra Mas Inc. Malang. The research location is done in cassava chips industry at Ultra Mas Inc. because in acquiring of raw materials imported when will do production activities only, in according with the principle of Just In Time system that Ultra Mas Inc., just buy raw materials in times of need. The type of this research is descriptive quantitative. The sources of data used is secondary data. The technique of the data collection was carried out by means of observation, interview, and documentation. This result of this research indicate that the system of planning and controlling of raw materials inventory applied by Ultra Mas Inc. approach with the concept of production Just In Time, that is producing at the right time although the amount is not right yet. The Just In Time concept be able to be implemented on raw material inventory an Ultra Mas Inc., and can reduce the cost of purchasing raw materials from the previous because the cost of planning more efficient and schedule production plans have been made in accordance with their needs of raw materials to meet customer orders.
