Abstract

Gaya hidup masyarakat kota semakin bervariasi salah satunya yaitu gaya hidup konsumtif yang semakin tinggi. Kota Malang yang dikenal sebagai kota pelajar menjadikan adanya potensi pasar yang menjadikan pelaku usaha membuka usaha yang dapat memenuhi kebutuhan gaya hidup salah satunya yaitu Distro dan Kafe. Belakangan ini yang terjadi di Kota Malang yaitu fenomena Distro dan Kafe yang tumbuh dengan pesat. Lokasi tumbuhnya Distro dan kafe berada di Kecamatan Lowokwaru dan Kecamatan Klojen yang dikarenakan wilayah tersebut merupakan kawasan pendidikan utumanya yaitu kawasan Universitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui orientasi dan preferensi masyarakat terhadap pemilihan Distro dan Kafe di Kota Malang. Analisis yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu analisis sebaran Distro dan Kafe, karakteristik Distro dan Kafe, karakteristik konsumen Distro dan Kafe, Analisis Orientasi, Analisis Faktor, dan Analisis Regresi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebanyak 191 unit yang terdiri dari 42 unit Distro, dan 149 unit Kafe yang tersebar pada 5 kecamatan di Kota Malang. Berdasarkan hasil identifikasi terhadap karakteristik Distro, Distro di Kota Malang dibedakan menjadi dua jenis yaitu Ekslusif Distro, dan Non Ekslusif Distro, sedangkan berdasarkan identifikasi karakteristik kafe, kafe di Kota Malang bisa dibedakan menjadi tiga jenis kafe yaitu kafe yang hanya menjual minuman, kafe yang menjual minuman dan makanan ringan,serta kafe yang menjual minuman, makanan ringan dan makanan berat. Mayoritas konsumen yang berkunjung ke Distro dan Kafe yaitu pada rentang usia 20-24 tahun. Berdasarkan analisis orientasi diketahui bahwa sebesar 76,34% masyarakat memilih berkunjung ke Distro diluar kecamatan tempat tinggal, dan sebesar 23,65% masyarakat memilih berkunjung ke Distro didalam kecamatan, serta sebesar 68,92% masyarakat memilih berkunjung ke kafe diluar kecamatan tempat tinggal, dan sebesar 31,07% masyarakat yang memilih berkunjung ke kafe didalam kecamatan. Hasil dari analisa faktor menunjukan terdapat 11 variabel yang mempengaruhi masyarakat terhadap pemilihan berkunjung ke Distro, dan terdapat 13 variabel yang mempengaruhi masyarakat terhadap pemilihan berkunjung ke Kafe. Berdasarkan model analisa regresi variabel yang mempengaruhi preferensi masyarakat dalam berkunjung ke Distro pada masing-masing kecamatan di Kota Malang variabel yang paling banyak ditemui yaitu variabel kualitas produk, sedangkan pada model analisa regresi variabel yang mempengaruhi preferensi masyarakat dalam berkunjung ke Kafe pada masing-masing keecamatan di Kota Malang variabel yang paling banyak ditemui yaitu variabel beragam variasi atau jenis produk.

English Abstract

The city people’s lifestyle are more various which one of them is consumtive and it is getting higher. Malang City is known as student city and it affects to the existence of market potency which makes many entrepreneurs open some businesses aiming to fulfill the lifestyle’s needs by establishing Distro and Cafe. In the current time, phenomena of Distro and Cafe is growing up significantly. The most locations of Distro and Cafe establishment are Lowokwaru and Klojen Districts. It is because those locations are the area which have high education potency which is closely related to universities area. This study aims to find out the community orientation and preference to Distro and Café Choices in Malang City. The analysis used in this study is analysis of Distro and Cafe distribution, Distro and Café characteristics, consumers characteristics, Orientation, Factor, and Regression. The research findings showed that there were 191 units consisting of 42 units of Distro and 149 units of Cafe that spread over 5 districts in Malang City. According to the identification results in terms of Distro characteristics, it could be divided into two types i.e. Distro Exclusive and Non-exclusive. Meanwhile, based on the identification of cafe characteristics, it could be divided into three types which were cafe that sold beverages only, cafe that sold beverages and snacks, and cafe that sold beverages, snacks, and food. The majority of consumers who visited Distro and Cafe was in the range of 20-24 years old. According to the orientation analysis, it was known that 76.34% of society chose to visit Distro outside of their district, 23.65% of society chose to visit Distro in their own district; meanwhile, 68.92% of society chose to visit Cafe outside of their district, and 31.07% of society chose to visit Cafe in their own district. The results of factor analysis showed that there were 11 variables which influenced the society towards visiting selection to Distro, and there were 13 variables which influenced the society towards visiting selection to Cafe. Based on the regression analysis model, the variable which influenced society’s preference in visiting Distro for each district in Malang City was product quality variable, while the variable which influenced society’s preference in visiting Cafe for each district in Malang City was various kinds of product variable.
