Abstract

Pertumbuhan penduduk pada saat ini sangat tinggi dan berdampak dengan meningkatnya permintaan suatu produk. Perusahaan tentunya meningkatkan produktivitas untuk memenuhi permintaan produk. Manusia sebagai salah satu faktor yang berpengaruh dalam produktivitas, harus memberikan perhatikan terutama pada beban kerja fisiknya. Beban kerja fisik yang tinggi dapat berdampak pada timbulnya risiko cidera operator. Salah satu risiko cidera yang timbul berupa musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). MSDs disebabkan oleh postur kerja operator yang tidak sesuai dalam melakukan kegiatan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisa risiko cidera operator pada bagian produksi UD. Putra Fajar, khususnya pada proses pemindahan bahan makanan dari mesin pendingin ke mesin penggoreng. Hasil Penelitian diharapkan desain alat bantu dapat mengurangi risiko cidera yang dapat dialami oleh operator. Operator yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah 2 orang, dimana peneliti melakukan kuisioner Nordic Body Map untuk mengetahui keluhan yang dialami oleh operator. Operator mengeluh di sebagian besar tubuhnya seperti bagian bahu, punggung, pinggang, pergelangan tangan. Sehingga metode yang digunakan adalah OWAS (Ovoko Working Analysis System). Tujuan dari OWAS untuk mengetahui tindakan yang dibutuhkan berdasarkan postur kerja operator saat melakukan Manual Material Handling. Data primer yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari pengamatan pada postur operator dan beban yang dipindahkan operator dalam melakukan kegiatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perhitungan OWAS diketahui bahwa manual material handling dari proses pengeluaran bahan makanan sampai pengangkatan bahan makanan ke mesin penggoreng memiliki resiko cidera yang tinggi dengan nilai (4) untuk proses pengeluaran bahan makanan dari mesin pendingin, nilai (4) untuk proses memindahkan bahan makanan dari mesin pendingin ke mesin penggoreng, dan nilai (3) untuk pengangkatan bahan makanan ke mesin penggoreng. Maka dari itu diperlukan rekomendasi perbaikan yang dapat mengurangi cidera dan membantu operator dalam melakukan manual material hanling dengan memberikan alat bantu berupa Manual Hydraulic Trolley. Setelah diberikan rekomendasi alat bantu kerja berupa alat Manual Hydraulic Trolley nilai aksi katagori proses pengeluaran bahan makanan dari mesin pendingin menjadi (1), proses pemindahan bahan makanan dari mesin pendingin ke mesin penggoreng menjadi (1), dan memasukan bahan makanan ke mesin penggoreng menjadi (2).

English Abstract

There are billions people in the world today and grows continuously. This growth is a major contributor to the huge demand for certain resources or products. Consequently, this demand drives company’s need to increase work productivity to meet customer’s demand. However, this will definitely impact its employees. Employees are the most valuable asset to companies and are crucial for productivity. Therefore, it is imperative that companies ensure the health safety and welfare of its employees, especially on physical work and strain. Otherwise, work strain may increase the risk of work injury. One of the many injuries associated with physical work and strain is musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). MSDs is caused by improper work posture during business operations. This report will analysis the risk of work injury at UD. Putra Fajar, specifically on the process of transferring the raw ingredients from the refrigerator to the deep fryer. The results gathered will help design a device to reduce the risk of manual handling injury at work. There are 2 employees under observation, where observer conducted Nordic Body Map questionnaire to determine the problems encountered by the employees. Employees expressed discomfort on most of their body parts including shoulder, back, waist and wrists. On that account, OWAS (Ovoko Working Analysis System) method will be used to determine the right action that is needed based on the work posture during Manual Material Handling. The primary research data was collected through observation of the employees’ posture and the load transferred by the employees during operations. The observation result and OWAS calculation showed that manual material handling activities involved with the transferring of raw ingredients from the refrigerator to the deep fryer have a high risk of work injury. The process of taking out the raw ingredients from the refrigerator is valued at 4, the process of transferring the raw ingredients from the refrigerator to the deep fryer is valued at 4 and the process of lifting the raw ingredients to the deep fryer is valued at 3. These values indicate a hazardous work site. Thus, an immediate action is imperative; an improvement is needed to reduce the risk of injury at work and help the employees in manual material handling. This report recommends an assisting device called Manual Hydraulic Trolley. After the implementation of Manual Hydraulic Trolley, the value of the process of taking out the raw ingredients from the refrigerator is reduced to 1, the process of transferring the raw ingredients from the refrigerator to the deep fryer is reduced to 1 and the process of lifting the raw ingredients to the deep fryer is reduced to 2.
