Abstract

Kondisi museum di Indonesia sekarang jauh dari kata layak dalam menginterpretasikan sebagaimana fungsi museum bagaimana seharusnya, sehingga mulai redup eksistensinya untuk dikunjungi. Kegiatan pengamatan oleh pengunjung pada sebuah museum menuntut adanya sarana yang dapat menunjang berupa suasana dalam ruang pamer. Hal yang harus dilakukan adalah membuat pengunjung mendapatkan pengalaman berbeda saat datang ke museum. Salah satu caranya adalah mengatur sistem tata cahaya yang ada di museum. Sistem tata cahaya pada museum tentu merupakan salah satu hal penting, terutama pada museum yang bangunannya menggunakan bangunan tua peninggalan sejarah, dimana sistem tata cahaya harus dibuat agar museum tidak terlihat seram dan menakutkan, sistem tata cahaya juga harus dibuat agar museum dapat berfungsi sebagai sarana edukasi sekaligus rekreasi. Museum Brawijaya Malang yang terletak di jalan Ijen, Kecamatan Klojen, Kota Malang merupakan bangunan museum yang diresmikan tahun 1968. Museum ini belum pernah mengalami revitalisasi sebelumnya. Selain sistem tata cahaya pada ruangan, sistem tata cahaya pada koleksi barang museum juga sangatlah penting. Sistem tata cahaya pada koleksi museum harus memperhatikan banyak faktor, jika tidak maka kerusakan barang koleksi dapat terjadi. Cahaya memiliki dua jenis unsur sinar yang dapat membahayakan koleksi, yaitu sinar ultaraviolet dan sinar infra merah (infared). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meninjau sistem tata cahaya buatan dengan aspek kenyamanan visual pada ruang pamer Museum Brawijaya Malang sesuai dengan standart pencahayaan museum yakni 500 lux yang direkomendasikan oleh Standart Nasional Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif-kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi / survei lapangan menggunakan alat Luxmeter. Waktu pengukuran penelitian dilakukan pada bulan September 2017 dengan keadaan cerah yang dibagi menjadi tiga skala waktu, yaitu pagi (pukul 08.00-10.00 WIB), siang (pukul 11.00- 13.00 WIB), dan sore (pukul 14.00-16.00 WIB). Data yang diperoleh dari pengumpulan data kemudian disimulasikan menggunakan software Dialux 4.12 dan dicari validasi sesuai standart. Dari data evaluasi eksisting hingga analisis data dan menghasilkan rekomendasi desain yang telah disesuaikan dengan standart pencahayaan museum yakni 500 lux. Variabel yang diteliti pada tata cahaya ruang pamer Museum Brawijaya Malang adalah, intensitas penerangan, desain bukaan, tata letak titik lampu dan suasana, kemudian keawetan barang koleksi. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah ruang pamer Museum Brawijaya Malang belum memenuhi standar pencahayaan museum. Setelah ditambahkan rekomendasi pada ruang pamer museum yang belum mencapai standar didapatkan hasil tata cahya yang baik dari aspek kenyamanan visual dan optimal.

English Abstract

The condition of museum in Indonesia is now still far from the word decent in interpreting how a museum should work, so it begins to dim its existence. Activities in a museum demand proper facilities that can support the atmosphere in the exhibition room. One of the things to do is to make the visitors get different experiences when they come to a museum by setting the lighting system in the exhibition room. The lighting system of museum is certainly one of the important things, especially in a museum that use old historic building, where the lighting system should be set up so that the museum does not look scary. The lighting system should also be set up to fulfill the museums function as a means of education as well as recreation. Located at Ijen Street, Brawijaya Museum was inaugurated in 1968 and never revitalized since then. Beside the lighting system in the exhibition room, the lighting system in the collection of museum is also very important. The lighting system in museum collections must be noticed from many factors to avoid any damages. Light has two types of elements that can harm the collection such as ultraviolet light and infrared light (infrared). The purpose of this research is to review the artificial lighting system from visual comfort aspect at the exhibition room of Brawijaya Museum Malang in accordance with museum lighting standard that is 500 lux recommended by Indonesian National Standard. This research is done using descriptive-quantitative method. The data were collected by field observation using Lux Meter. The measurement in this research was conducted in bright condition in September 2017 and was divided into three time scale, that is morning (at 08.00-10.00 WIB), noon (at 11.00-13.00 WIB), and afternoon (at 14.00-16.00 WIB). Data that were collected then simulated using Dialux 4.12 software and checked the validation according to the standard. From the existing evaluation to data analysis, the result of this research is design recommendations that have been adjusted to the museum lighting standard that is 500 lux. The variables studied in this research are the light intensity, the design of openings, the lighting layout and the atmosphere, then the durability of collectibles. The result concludes that the exhibition room of Brawijaya Museum Malang has not met the lighting standards of a museum. After applying the recommendation on the exhibition room that has not reached the standard, obtained better visualization results from the aspect of visual comfort.
