Abstract

Indonesia merupakan sebuah negara kepulauan yang terkenal dengan istilah seribu pulau. Salah satunya yatitu pulau Jawa.. Pulau Jawa memberikan kontribusi yang besar dalam ekonomi di Indonesia. Bahkan, pulau Jawa mampu menyumpangkan nominal yang besar pada Produk Domestik Regional Bruto, meskipun begitu kenyataannya penyerapan tenaga kerja masih rendah, dengan kata lain pengangguran di pulau Jawa masih dikatakan tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami tentang pengaruh produk domestic regional bruto, tingkat upah minimum dan pendidikan terhadap penyerapan tenaga kerja di pulau Jawa dari tahun 2001 hingga 2015. Data yang digunakan menggunakan data sekunder yang tersedia di badan Pusat Statistika di Indonesia. Penelitian ini melibatkan 6 provinsi di Jwa, yaitu Jakarta, Jawa Barat, Banten, Yogyakarta, Jawa Tengah dan Jawa Timur. Data diolah menggunakan Eviews 7.0 dengan estimasi data panel. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa PDRB dan pendidikan memiliki hubungan yang signifikan terhadap penyerapan tenaga kerja, sementara tingkat upah minimum tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap penyerapan tenaga kerja di pulau Jawa.

English Abstract

Indonesia is an archipelago country which more than a thousand islands. One of the islands is Java. Java is a densely populated that give a massive contribution in Indonesia economy. Even Java donated big amount of number in Gross Regional Domestic Product, the number of unemployment in Java still remains high. This research has purpose to understand about the effect of gross domestic regional product, minimum wages rate and education to the employment in Java from 2011-2015. The data used in this research is secondary data from Central Bureau of Statistics in Indonesia. This research contain 6 provinces in Java namely Jakarta, West Java, Banten, Yogyakarta, Central Java and East Java. The data processed with Eviews 7.0 with panel data estimation. The result of this study indicates that GRDP and Education have positive and significant effect on employment, while minimum wages rate has negative impact even there is significant effect to the employment in Java.
