English Abstract
The objectives of this research is to seek factors that influencing the implementation of Knowledge Management System to improve the possibility for long term sustainability. Knowledge management have been successfully used to manage knowledge as an intangible asset of company. For this reason the authors decide (1) to describe the implementation of KMS at ANTAM, (2) to investigate factors that could support or hinder the implementation of knowledge management system, and (3) to describe the system’s sustainability for further development by showing current weakness. The research is used qualitative research methods with cresswell’s data analysis with data reduction, data display, and conclusion. This study was conducted at PT Aneka Tambang (ANTAM) Tbk, Jakarta, Indonesia. It is one of leading mining company in Indonesia. Data for this research were collected through interviews. Interviews were conducted by three important’s informants. The result of this study show that (1) support form organization plays very important role. It is shown from the existence of information technology, rewarding, forums, motivation from leadership, and learning climate. Other results also show that (2) information system is well suited to ascertaining in managing knowledge, but were unable to sufficiently modify for the purpose of knowledge creating and knowledge sharing. For the purpose of scability for future use, existing knowledge management system is still limited. Therefore, the authors recommends further modification to the system and strengthen the strategy of sharing knowledge before any other uses are considered.
