Abstract
Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Ngadiluwih yang mengalami kesulitan menceritakan kembali isi teks fabel karena kurangnya rasa percaya diri. Permasalahan tersebut karena siswa tidak mengetahui dan memahami contoh bercerita yang baik sehingga siswa mendapatkan nilai rata-rata 59,62 atau berada di bawah KKM 75 dengan persentase ketuntasan 27,5%. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu meningkatkan kemampuan menceritakan kembali teks fabel dengan menggunakan metode pemodelan pada siswa kelas VII-I SMPN 1 Ngadiluwih. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK), yang bertujuan meningkatkan kemampuan bercerita. Instrumen penelitian yaitu tes dan nontes. Pada intrumen tes masing-masing siswa menceritakan kembali teks fabel dengan judul yang sama secara bergantian. Intrumen nontes terdiri atas lembar observasi kegiatan guru, lembar observasi kegiatan siswa, dan angket siswa. Hasil yang diperoleh bahwa penerapan metode pemodelan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menceritakan kembali teks fabel pada siswa kelas VII-I SMP Negeri 1 Ngadiluwih. Peningkatan pada tahap proses yaitu pada siklus I memperoleh 66,25 meningkat menjadi 86,25 pada siklus II. Selanjutnya, nilai rata-rata kegiatan siswa siklus I memperoleh 62,5 meningkat di siklus II menjadi 87,5. Adapun peningkatan pada segi hasil, yaitu persentase ketuntasan siswa meningkat dari siklus I pertemuan I hanya 25% menjadi 90% pada siklus II pertemuan II. Peningkatan juga terjadi pada rata-rata nilai siswa, awalnya pada siklus I pertemuan I sebesar 57,05 menjadi 83,50 pada siklus II pertemuan II.
English Abstract
This research took VII-I students of SMPN 1 Ngadiluwih as the object of the study who faced difficulty in retell fable text because their less confidence. The problem arose when they did not know and understand how to tell a good story. Thus, it makes their average score only 59,62% or below KKM (75) with only reach 27,5%. Therefore, the purpose of this research is improving students’ ability to retell fable text using modeling method. This research used Classroom Action Research (PTK), which the purpose is to improve ability in retell a story. In collecting the data, the researcher used instrument which covers Test and Non-Test. At the Test instrument, each student is retelling fable text with same title of story. Then, Non-Test instrument consists of teacher’s observation paper, students’ observation paper, and students’ questionnaire. The result of the research proved that modeling method can improve students’ ability in retell fable text at VII-I students of SMPN 1 Ngadiluwih. At the process stage, there was improvement from 66,25 (cycle 1) to 86,25 (cycle 2). The average of students activity in cycle 1 was 62,5, became 87,5 in cycle 2. Then, the improvement happened on students score with percentage 25 % (at cycle 1, meeting 1) became 90 % (at cycle 2, meeting 2). At last, the improvement also happened to the average score of students from 57,05 (at cycle 1, meeting 1) became 83,50 (at cycle 2, meeting 2).
