Abstract
Mentimun (Cucumis sativa L) adalah salah satu jenis sayuran yang populer bagi penduduk Indonesia,mentimun bermanfaat sebagai bahan makanan ataupun untuk produk kecantikan. Menurut Badan Pusat Statistik Indonesia (2015), produksi mentimun mulai tahun 2013 sampai 2015 di Indonesia mengalami penurunan. Penurunan produksi mentimun dapat disebabkan oleh banyak faktor, salah satunya adalah serangan Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV). Menurut Soleimani dkk (2011) Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) adalah virus utama yang menginfeksi sayuran di seluruh dunia dan menyebabkan kerugian dalam segi kuantitas dan kualitas tanaman. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Glass House dan Laboratorium Virologi Jurusan Hama dan Penyakit Tumbuhan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Brawijaya Malang. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei- Agustus 2017. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 kali ulangan. Setiap ulangan terdiri dari 2 tanaman sehingga diperoleh 40 tanaman. Penelitain menggunakan ekstrak bagian tanaman, tanaman yang digunakan adalah Jahe (Zingiber officinale Rosc.), Kunyit (Curcuma domestica), Kencur (Kaemfera galanga L.), Bunga pukul empat (Mirabilis jalapa) diekstrak dengan konsentrasi 50%. Dari hasil penelitian pemberian ekstrak tanaman memberikan pengaruh terhadap masa inkubasi dan intensitas serangan CMV pada tanaman mentimun serta meningkatkan ketahanan tanaman mentimun. Pemberian ekstrak tanaman yang yang paling baik dalam menginduksi ketahan sistemik tanaman adalah ekstrak bunga pukul empat yang mampu memberiakn pengaruh sangat berbeda nyata pada masa inkubasi CMV dan intensitas penyakit CMV serta berbeda nyata pada kandungan klorofil tanaman mentimun.
English Abstract
Cucumber (Cucumis sativa L) is one of the most popular vegetables for Indonesians, cucumber is useful as foodstuff or beauty product. According to the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics (2015), cucumber production from 2013 to 2015 in Indonesia has decreased. The decrease of cucumber production can be caused by many factors, one of which is Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) attack. According to Soleimani et al (2011) Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) is the main virus that infects vegetables in the world and causes losses in terms of plant quantity and quality. The research was conducted at Glass House and Virology Laboratory of Plant Pest and Disease Department of Faculty of Agriculture University of Brawijaya Malang. The research was conducted in May-August 2017. The research was using Completely Randomized Design with 5 treatments and 4 replications. Each replication consists of 2 plants so that obtained 40 plants. Research using plant extract, plants used are Ginger (Zingiber officinale Rosc.), Turmeric (Curcuma domestica), Kencur (Kaemfera galanga L.), Four O’clock Flower (Mirabilis jalapa) extracted with concentration 50%. From the results of this research give effect on the incubation period and intensity of CMV attack on cucumber plants and improve the resistance of cucumber plants. The best plant extract in inducing plant systemic resilience was four o’clock flower extract that was able to give a very different effect on CMV incubation period and the intensity of CMV disease and significantly different in the chlorophyll content of cucumber plant.
