Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui akar masalah dari kecurangan akademik yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa pada saat ujian. Data yang diolah dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dengan menggunakan teknik wawancara yang dilakukan kepada mahasiswa akuntansi yang pernah melakukan kecurangan akademik pada saat ujian. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Root Cause Analysis “5 why analysis” dengan cara bertanya mengapa sebanyak 5 kali atau secara berulang kali hingga menemukan akar dari sebuah permasalahan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tidak semua mahasiswa memiliki akar masalah kecurangan akademik yang sama. Adapun beberapa akar masalah dari kecurangan akademik pada saat ujian antara lain mahasiswa memiliki kesibukan diluar perkuliahan, terlalu banyak materi yang diujikan, dan merasa memiliki tanggungjawab kepada orangtua
English Abstract
The objective of the study is to identify the root cause of academic cheating performed by the students. The data on the students doing academic cheating during the examinations are collected through interview and analyzed by Root Cause of 5-why Analysis method, i.e. raising five questions preceded by why too discover the main problem. The result of the study shows that not all students have the same root cause of their academic cheating. The root causes of the academic cheating cover the students’ busy activities outside the class, overload topics of the examination, and sense of responsibility to the parents.
