Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mendorong keberhasilan gerakan oleh Aliansi Mahasiswa di Universitas Brawijaya dengan tuntutan mempertahankan eksistensi Program Vokasi di UB. Gerakan yang terjadi berlangsung sepanjang tahun 2016, dan dengan beberapa faktor tertentu, gerakan tersebut mampu mencapai tuntutan mereka dan berhasil menjalankan gerakan sosial secara sukses. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan teori gerakan sosial sebagai pisau analisis. Dalam teori gerakan sosial, terdapat 3 alat analisis dasar yang dapat memberi gambaran umum mengenai sebuah gerakan sosial dalam hal strategi dalam tubuh gerakan dan situasi politik di lingkungan tempat gerakan terjadi, yaitu mobilisasi sumber daya, struktur kesempatan politik dan framing process. Mobilisasi sumber daya memandang gerakan sebagai pertarungan distribusi sumber daya, framing process memandang kepada bagaimana ide dibentuk dan diamplifikasi sepanjang proses gerakan sosial dan struktur kesempatan politik memandang kepada aspek-aspek politik, khususnya di luar dari tubuh gerakan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan model kualitatif oleh Miles dan Huberman untuk analisis data. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa tingginya tingkat keterbukaan struktur kesempatan politik di UB mempermudah gerakan dalam memobilisasi tuntutan mereka. Selanjutnya, situasi sosial mahasiswa dimaanfaatkan dengan baik oleh gerakan dengan teknik framing, keberhasilan pembentukan dan amplifikasi ide akhirnya mendorong kesuksesan distribusi sumber daya kepada gerakan ini, dan akhirnya mampu memanfaatkan situasi struktur kesempatan politik yang terbuka di UB secara maksimal untuk mencapai keberhasilan gerakan sosial.
English Abstract
This research mainly aims to analyze the factor that gave success to the movement that are done by the Student Aliance in University of Brawijaya, which demands to keep the existence of Vocational Program on UB. The movement occurs and lasted throughout 2016, and with some certain factors, the movement were able to claim their demand and are able to do a successful social movement successfully. In this research, the writer uses the theory of social movement as an analytical knife. On the theory of social movement, there are 3 basic analytical tools that will give out the main picture about the movement, specifically on the strategy inside the movement’s body and the political situation that the movement took place on, that is resource mobilization, political opportunity structure and framing process. Resource mobilization looks at the movement as a war field of resource distribution, framing process looks upon how ideas are made and amplificated throughout the movement and political opportunity structure looks upon the political aspect, especially those that are outside the movement’s body.This research uses qualitative approach and Miles and Hubermans’s qualitative model to analyze the data that are found.This research founds that the already high stage of openness in UB’s political structure ease the way for movement to mobilize their claimate. Also, the social situation of the students are being used to great lengths by the movement with framing techniques, the success of making and amplificating an idea in the end gave a huge push upon the other success on resource mobilization field, that they really almost get all the resource for the movement, and they top it with taking full benefit on political opportunity that are open in UB, and be successful at the end of the movement.
