Abstract
Keterbatasan lahan yang ada di Indonesia menjadi salah satu kendala dalam budidaya tanaman khususnya pada tanaman cabai. Pemanfaatan taman di atap bangunan sebagai salah satu solusi. Cabai hias ialah jenis tanaman hias buah yang biasanya di tanam dalam pot dan dapat berfungsi baik sebagai tanaman hias dalam ruang dan di luar ruangan. Salah satu upaya untuk mendapatkan kualitas cabai hias yang diharapkan dapat dilakukan penelitian lebih lanjut dengan alternatif yang digunakan ialah frekuensi pemangkasan pada tanaman cabai hias dan jenis wadah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah mempelajari dan mendapatkan respon terbaik pada tanaman cabai hias terhadap frekuensi pemangkasan dan jenis wadah media tanam pada budidaya penanaman di atap bangunan (roof top). Hipotesis kombinasi frekuensi pemangkasan 2 kali dengan wadah polybag akan memberikan respon terbaik terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman cabai hias pada budidaya penanaman di atap bangunan. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Bulan Juli sampai dengan Bulan Oktober 2016 di Jl. Joyo Agung No.88, Malang. Percobaan dirancang menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) terdiri dari satu perlakuan yaitu jenis wadah media tanam dan pemangkasan dengan jumlah sembilan taraf yang diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Terdapat 3 perlakuan pemangkasan yaitu pemangkasan 2 kali, pemangkasan 1 kali dan tanpa pemangkasan dengan 3 jenis wadah tanam yaitu menggunakan pot liat, pot plastik dan polybag, sehingga diperoleh 27 satuan kombinasi perlakuan. Pengamatan dilakukan secara non destruktif dan dekstruktif, meliputi komponen pertumbuhan dan komponen hasil (tinggi tanaman , jumlah daun, luas daun, waktu pertama bunga muncul, waktu pertama buah muncul dan jumlah cabang) pada saat tanaman berumur 14 sampai 86 hst. Pengamatan dilakukan setiap 2 minggu sekali hingga 6 kali pengamatan, yaitu pada umur 2, 4, 6 dan 8 mst untuk komponen pertumbuhan. Untuk komponen hasil, jumlah buah total, dan bobot buah dilakukan pada umur pengamatan 10 dan 12 mst. Frekuensi pemangkasan dan jenis wadah berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter pengamatan tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, luas daun, jumlah cabang, jumlah buah, bobot buah, dan berat kering tanaman. Pemangkasan 2 kali pada wadah polybag memberikan pengaruh yang nyata pada semua parameter pengamatan, kecuali parameter waktu pertama munculnya bunga dan buah. Pemangkasan 2 kali pada wadah polybag mendapatkan respon terbaik dibandingkan dengan tanpa pemangkasan. Respon tanaman cabai hias dengan perlakuan pemangkasan 2 kali pada wadah polybag, memiliki luas daun 39%, jumlah cabang 50% dan jumlah buah sebesar 29% dibandingkan dengan perlakuan tanpa pemangkasan pada wadah pot liat. Bobot basah pada polybag dengan menggunakan media tanam kompos dan tanah memiliki bobot lebih ringan (74,68%) dibandingkan dengan pot liat.
English Abstract
Limitation of the existing land in Indonesia has become one of the obstacles in cultivation crops especially in pepper, one of the efforts that can be done is to use a garden on the roof of the building. Planting chili as an ornamental plant has different purpose than of chili for production, one of them is the aesthethic value. One of the efforts to get the quality of expected ornamental chili is to do further research by frequency of pruning on ornamental pepper plants and types of container as the alternative. The purpose of the research is Studying the response of ornamental chili to the frequency of pruning and container type on the roof top system. Hypothesis is Combination of 2 times pruning frequency with polybag container will give the best response to the growth and yield of ornamental chilli plants on the roof top system. The research has been conducted on July to October 2016 at Jl. Joyo Agung No.88, Malang. The experiment use randomized block design consist of a single treatment that type of media container planting and frequency of pruning. The treatment of pruning consist three times as pruning 2 times, pruning 1 times and without pruning and the type of media container consist three type such as clay pots, plastic pots and polybag. so there are 27 units of a combination of treatments. Observations are non-destructive and destructive ends, covering the components of growth and yield components (plant height, leaf number, leaf area, the first flowers and appear in time and the number of branches) at the time the plant was 14 to 86 days after planting. Observations were made every two weeks up to 6 times of observation, as ages 2, 4, 6 and 8 mst for growth component. For yield components, the number of total fruits, and fruit weight done at age 10 and 12 mst. The result of study presen that the frequency of pruning and material pot gave the real effects on the observation parameters plant height, leaf number, leaf area, number of branches, number of fruits, fruit weight and plant dry weight. Pruning 2 times on the container of polybag is giving significant effect on all parameters of observation, except parameters of flowering and fruiting time it first appears. In the observation parameter plant height, ornamental pepper plants showed the best response is without pruning in plastic pot containers. Pruning 2 times on polybag containers have a better response compared without pruning. Response of ornamental chilli with 2 times of pruning on polybag container, has a leaf area is 39%, number of branches is 50% and the number of fruit is 29% that compared with the treatment of without pruning on clay pot container.
