Abstract

Pariwisata merupakan sektor andalan dalam menunjang pembangunan nasional dan pariwisata mempunyai peran yang sangat penting dalam pertumbuhan perekonomian nasional karena pariwisata dapat menghasilkan devisa, menciptakan lapangan kerja dan kesempatan berusaha. Perkembangan industri pariwisata merupakan suatu fenomena yang menarik meskipun. Pariwisata juga merupakan sektor yang sangat sensitif terhadap perubahan yang terjadi baik secara internal maupun eksternal yang sangat berpengaruh terhadap jumlah dan minat wisatawan untuk mengunjungi suatu Negara, Provinsi maupun Daerah. Salah satu tempat wisata yang ada di Kabupaten Situbondo yang gencar mengembangkan pariwisatanya yaitu pengelola Pantai Pasir Putih, sebagai upaya penting untuk mengetahui faktor yang mempengaruhi jumlah kunjungan wisatawan ke Pantai Pasir Putih. English Abstract

The high level of tourist visits is able to provide benefits for the State and tourist destinations. The purpose of this study were (1) the characteristics of visiting tourists, (2) the factors influencing tourists in visiting, and (3) the most dominant factors in visiting. The research type is quantitative and qualitative descriptive research. The population in this study were visitors or tourists who visited the White Sand Beach, and a sample of 45 respondents. Research data was collected through interviews, observation, documentation and questionnaires. The methods used to analyze the data are validity test, reliability test, classical assumption test, multiple linear regression analysis, coefficient of determination, F test, and t test with 95% confidence level (a = 0.05). The conclusions of this study are (1) the characteristics of tourists can be seen by age, sex, address of origin, education, occupation, income, and duration of travel.(2) factors influencing tourist visiting that is marketing mix factor and social culture have no real effect while for psychology influence simultaneously and partially have positive effect (3) the most dominant factor influencing is psychological factor. The value of determination coefficient (R2) shows that the independent variables studied are able to explain 28.4% to the decision variable of tourists while the remaining 71.6% is explained by other independent variables that are not included in the study. Thus it can be concluded that the marketing mix factor, and socio-culture have no significant effect. While psychology significantly affect the decision of tourists in visiting the Pasir Putih Beach.
