Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengestimasi nilai heritabilitas (h2) dan nilai pemuliaan bobot lahir, bobot satu tahun dan ukuran tubuh sapi Sonok di Unit Pelaksana Teknis Daerah (UPTD) III Kecamatan Waru-Pamekasan. Materi penelitian yang digunakan yaitu 50 ekor sapi Madura betina umur 1 hari dan 365 hari. Variabel yang diukur adalah bobot lahir, bobot satu tahun (365 hari) dan ukuran tubuh mulai tahun 2015-2016. Catatan silsilah berasal dari 50 ekor sapi Sonok yang berasal dari 11 pejantan dan 50 ekor induk sapi Sonok. Parameter yang diestimasi yaitu nilai heritabilitas dan nilai pemuliaan. Estimasi nilai heritabilitas dilakukan berdasarkan metode korelasi saudara tiri sebapak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai heritabilitas untuk bobot lahir, bobot satu tahun dan ukuran tubuh lingkar dada, panjang badan dan tinggi gumba masing-masing 0,48 ± 0,24 ; 0.51 ± 0.01 ; 0,44 ± 0,036 ; 0,12 ± 0,035, dan 0,29 ± 0,023. Nilai pemuliaan tertinggi untuk sifat bobot lahir, bobot satu tahun, lingkar dada dan panjang badan dimiliki oleh pejantan nomor 07.
English Abstract
The study was conducted to estimate heritability (h2) and breeding value for birth weight, yearling weight and vital statistics at Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) District III Waru in Pamekasan district. This study used pedigree record including birth weight, yearling weight (365 days) and vital statistics from 2015 to 2016 years. The recording of pedigree were collected from 50 Sonok calves which in herited from the crossing between 11 bulls and 50 Sonok cows. The parameter estimated were heritability and breeding value. The estimation of heritability were analysed by Paternal Halfsib Correlation method. The result indicated that heritability were 0.48 ± 0.24 for birth weight,0.51 ± 0.01 for yearling weight and vital statistic were 0.12 ± 0.035 for body length, 0.29 ± 0.023 for withers heightand 0.44 ± 0.036 for chest girth (CG) respectively. The estimated of breeding value of birth weight, yearling weight, body length and chest girth was sire 07 with high rank and sire 08 was high score 116.25 of body hight respectively.
