Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh musik klasik terhadap valensi afek. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan between-subject experimental design dalam setting laboratorium, dengan partisipan mahasiswa Program Studi Psikologi Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu politik sebanyak 83 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam pengukuran valensi afek adalah affect scale dengan stimulus IAPS (International Affective Picture System). Partisipan dibagi kedalam dua kelompok, dimana satu kelompok diperdengarkan musik klasik, dan kelompok lain tidak diperdengarkan musik klasik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh dari musik klasik terhadap valensi afek negatif (p< 0.05).

English Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of classical music on affective valence. The design of this study used between-subjects experimental design in the laboratory setting, which involve 83 undergraduate Psychology student Brawijaya University. IAPS pictures was used to evoke participant’s affect. Participants are divided into two groups, where one group is listened to classical music, and the other group is not listened to classical music. The results showed that there was influence from classical music to affects of negative valence (p <0.05).
