Abstract

Permainan video merupakan suatu ciptaan yang di dalamnya terdapat sistem keamanan. Sistem keamanan tersebut bertujuan untuk melindungi ciptaan tersebut dar hal-hal yang tidak diperbolehkan oleh pihak pengembang permainan video. Game Online Private server dalam tahap pembuatannya melakukan modifikasi pada suatu permainan video. Dimana pada tahapan modifikasi permainan video tersebut berhubungan langsung dengan sistem keamanan ciptaan. Melakukan modifikasi permainan video di beberapa Negara dilegalkan. Namun di Indonesia sendiri belum banyak ditemukan produk hukum terkait dengan permainan video. Walaupun Undang-Undang No. 28 Tahun 2014 tentang Hak Cipta masih ada kaitannya, akan tetapi di dalamnya masih belum jelas pengaturan serta pemberian sanksi terhadap tindakan pembuatan game online private server. Perlu melakukan penafsiran terhadap pasal tersebut.

English Abstract

Video game is a creation that has a security system inside. This security system is intended to protect it from the things that are not allowed by the developer of the video game. Private Server of Online Game did modification to a video game. The modification process required access to the security system of the game. Doing modification to video game in some countries is allowed. However, there not many legal product srelated to video game ound in Indonesia. Even though Law number 28 year 2014 about copyright is still related with this issue, in reality it does not specifically regulate the imposition of sanction on the action of private server of online game. An interpretation on the article is still required.
