Lina, Maryam Ade (2017) Adaptasi Aktivitas Vegetatif Semai Spesies Critically Endangered Hopea Sangal Korth Pada Dua Variasi Keteduhan Di Kebun Raya Purwodadi. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
Aims of this research were to analyze adaptation of H. sangal seedling vegetative growth, to determine interaction among microclimate, seedling growth and their productivity under two shading areas in the nursery of Purwodadi Botanical Garden (KRP). This quasi experiment was held by using a completely randomized design. There were two treatments and nine replications. Seedlings of H. sangal were planted in 18 polybags and cultivated in two level shading area (88% or 94%). Their vegetative growth including stem height, diameter, number of twigs, buds, young leaves, mature leaves and old leaves were weekly observed. Moreover light intensity, air temperature, relative humidity and rainfall were measured monthly by KRP. Data were descriptively analyzed using Microsoft Excel, biplot analysis and t-test run in PAST program. The results showed that seedlings grew and well adapted in two shading areas shown by their morphology, however they prefered growing under the 88% shading habitat rather than the 94% one. They showed periodic growth on twigs, young leaves and old leaves density. Light intensity in the 88 % shading area increased vegetative growth H. sangal seedlings such as stem height and diameter, number of twigs, buds, as well as young, mature and old leaves. Seedling growth under 88% of shading showed a higher productivity (114.11 g.m-2.month-1) than those in another habitat (83.63 g.m-2.month-1).
