Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji mengenai bagaimana anggota padepokan memaknai ajaran Soerjo Alam dalam ritual gosokan, dimana secara formal acara ritual gosokan diadakan dengan rutin pada setiap malam Kamis Kliwon (hitungan hari jawa) dan acara yang dilaksanakan dipimpin dan dipandu oleh para sesepuh. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan makna dari ajaran Soerjo Alam yang terdapat didalam ritual gosokan Dengan menggunakan pendekatan interaksionisme simbolik bertumpu pada tiga premis dimana manusia bertindak terhadap sesuatu berdasarkan makna-makna yang ada pada sesuatu itu bagi mereka, makna hal tersebut berasal dari interaksi sosial seseorang dengan orang lain dan makna-makna tersebut yang telah disempurnakansaat proses interaksi sosial berlangsung. Peneliti mengkaji kegiatan ritual gosokanmampu memberikan penjelasan tentang bagaimana proses pemaknaan ajaran jawa dan selain itu diharapkan mampu memberikan manfaat dalam memaknai ajaran Soerjo Alam dalam ritual gosokan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif yang mencangkup tentang beberapa aspek, diantaranya adalah dengan adanya pengamatan, wawancara atau penelaahan dokumen yang berasal dari hubungan komunikasi untuk mendapatkan informasi yang dicari. Hasil analisis interpretasi makna ajaran Soerjo Alam dengan Perspektif Interaksionisme Simbolik dapat diketahui bahwa aktivitas yang dilakukan pada padepokan Soejo Alam yaitu melakukan hal-hal yang terkait dengan aktivitas keagamaan dengan sistem dan cara penyampaian perintah agama namun demikian melalui suatu acara yang rutin dalam hal ini terkait dengan kepercayaan terhadap Tuhan yang Maha Esa. Dalam interaksionisme simbolik bertumpu pada tiga premis: 1) Manusia bertindak terhadap sesuatu berdasarkan makna-makna yang ada pada sesuatu itu bagi mereka 2) Makna tersebut berasal dari interaksi sosial seseorang dengan orang lain 3) Makna-makna tersebut disempurnakan di saat proses interaksi sosial berlangsung. Terkait dengan ketiga premis tersebut maka masyarakat memahami pentingnya ritual gosokan yang dilaksanakan di Padepokan Soerjo Alam dan masyarakat selalu berupaya untuk memenuhi kebutuhan dan berupaya untuk mengikuti ajaran yang disampaikan.

English Abstract

This study examines how members of the padepokan interpret the teachings of Soerjo Alam in ritual gosokan, where formally ritual gosokan ceremony held regularly on every Thursday night Kliwon (Javanese day count) and the event is led and guided by the elders. The purpose of this study is to describe the meaning of Soerjo Alam's teachings contained in ritual gosokan. Using a symbolic interaction approach rests on three premises in which people act on something based on the meanings that exist in something for them, the meaning comes from one's social interaction with others and those meanings that have been perfected during the process of social interaction . Researchers studied ritual gosokan activities able to provide an explanation of how the process of interpretation of Javanese teachings and otherwise expected to provide benefits in interpreting Soerjo Alam's teachings in ritual gosokan. The method used in this research is qualitative research which covers about some aspect, among others is by the observation, interview or study document from communication relationship to get the information sought. The result of the interpretation analysis of the meaning of Soerjo Alam's teachings with the Symbolic Interactionist Perspective can be seen that the activity done on Soejo Alam's padepokan is doing things related to the religious activities with the system and the way of delivering the religious command yet through a routine event in this case related to Belief in God Almighty. In symbolic interactionism rests on three premises: 1) Man acts against something based on the meanings that exist on something for them 2) The meaning comes from one's social interaction with others 3) These meanings are perfected during the process of social interaction takes place . Associated with the three premises, the public understands the importance of gosokan rituals held in Padepokan Soerjo Alam and the community always strives to meet the needs and strive to follow the teachings that are delivered.
