Model Laju Pertumbuhan Perkecambahan Tanaman Jagung (Zea mays L.) Pada Variasi Massa Benih Jagung

Cholidia, Dinia (2017) Model Laju Pertumbuhan Perkecambahan Tanaman Jagung (Zea mays L.) Pada Variasi Massa Benih Jagung. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

English Abstract

The rate of growth of maize plants is influenced by the determination of superior varieties conducted by the determination of seed quality. Seed quality is the shape and mass of seed, growing power, vigor and purity of seed. The seed mass is very influential in germination because in the seed there is food reserves (endosperm) which serves to supply food in the germination process. Growth of seed germination can be predicted by using mathematical model of growth of type S. curve. This model assumes that at certain times the population number will be close to the equilibrium point. This research used single factor treatment (seed mass) with three large seed mass treatment 0,39 - 0,293 g, medium seed mass 0,254-0,292 g and small seed mass 0,155 - 0,253 g each treatment repeated three times. Observation and Data Analysis conducted include germination power parameters, plant height, stem diameter, wet mass and dry plants. The germination power parameters obtained were analyzed using three germination mathematical models that were Gompertz, Logistic and General Logistic models. The result of this study indicate that the growth rate of maize germination increases with the greater mass of seeds. While for the self-modelling of the three treatments that match the data generated during the observation process is the Gompertz model gives higher result than the Logistic model and general Logistic model.
