Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan latar belakang siswa kelas VIII SMP PGRI 01 Singosari mengalami kesulitan membacakan teks berita. Kesulitan tersebut disebabkan guru hanya menerapkan teknik ceramah, penugasan, dan performansi serta tidak memberikan contoh mengenai cara membacakan teks berita. Tujuan penelitian ini meliputi (1) mendeskripsikan penerapan teknik VAK berbasis multimedia interaktif terhadap pembelajaran membacakan teks berita siswa kelas VIII SMP PGRI 01 Singosari (2) mendeskripsikan pengaruh teknik VAK berbasis multimedia interaktif terhadap keterampilan membacakan teks berita pada siswa kelas VIII SMP PGRI 01 Singosari. Ancangan penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian eksperimen semu. Desain penelitian ini One-Group Pretest Design. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII-A (kelas eksperimen) dan VIII-B (kelas kontrol). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes kinerja, wawancara, uji validitas, dan uji reliabilitas. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji-t dan uji hipotesis. . Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh perbedaan keterampilan siswa dalam membacakan teks berita di kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Hal tersebut sesuai hasil posttest pada kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen diketahui thitung (th) sebesar -4,115 dengan df 46. Nilai ttabel (ttb) pada taraf signifikasi 5% dan df 46 sebesar -2,013. Berdasarkan perhitungan tersebut thitung (th) -4,115 < ttabel (ttb) -2,013, thitung (th) lebih kecil dari ttabel (ttb). Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa penerapan teknik VAK berbasis multimedia interaktif berpengaruh dalam pembelajaran membacakan teks berita.

English Abstract

This study was conducted based on the problems found on eighth grade students at SMP PGRI 01 Singosari that had difficulty in reading news text. The difficulty was caused by the teacher that only applied speech, assignment, and performance technique in teaching and learning process. Besides, the teacher did not give an example of how to read a news text. The purposes of the study were (1) describing the application of VAK technique interactive multimedia-based toward teaching reading news text at eighth grade students of SMP PGRI 01 Singosari (2) describing the influence of VAK technique Interactive Multimedia-Based toward news text reading skill at eighth grade students of SMP PGRI 01 Singosari. In this study, the researcher used quantitative method with quasy experiment. The research design was One-Group Pretest Design. The research population was the whole eighth grade students of SMP PGRI Singosari. The research sample was VIII-A class (experimental class) and VIII-B (control class). The data collection technique used performance test, interview, validity test, and reliability test. The data analyses technique used normality test, homogeneity test, t-test and hypothesis test. The result of the study was got that there was difference of students’ skill in reading news text between control class and experimental class. It was in line with the result of post-test on control class and experimental class known thitung (th) -4,115 with df 46. Ttabel (ttb) on significant level 5% and df 46 was -2,013. Based on the calculation, thitung (th) was smaller than ttabel (ttb) (thitung (th) -4,115 < ttabel (ttb) -2,013. It showed that the application of VAK technique interactive multimedia-based influenced in teaching reading news text.
