Abstract
People of society have the potential to become victims of crime, children are one example. Early marriages that attack children are caused by many factors such as socio-cultural, economic, and religious factors. Children's Organizations call child marriage in Indonesia very worrying. To overcome this issue, Burnout Chaos Team conveying their aspirations through educational digital posters that raise the theme of early marriage for young students. Poster entitled “When The Mother is a Child” shows the figure of a girl who loses her hopes and dreams at a young age due to early marriage. Apart from the visual of the girl, there are several other visual objects that support the message on the poster. Analysis of visual objects and verbal objects is needed to help explore the message behind the poster “When The Mother is a Child”. In this research, illustrations from posters “When The Mother is a Child” will be dissected using analytical theory by Roland Barthes. Descriptive qualitative research methods were used in compiling this research. For data collection techniques, the author uses observation, interviews, literature study and documentation. The results of this research found that on the poster “When The Mother is a Child” shows symbols of objects that are synonymous with weddings such as make-up, traditional hair buns and hairpins that depict the wedding event itself. Symbols of educational themed objects such as uniforms, classmates' photos and sticky notes try to convey how a child should have the right to education. Apart from that, there are other symbols such as black shadows and exclamation marks that are present to emphasize that this issue haunts and is dangerous for children
English Abstract
Seluruh lapisan masyarakat berpotensi menjadi korban kejahatan, anak�anak adalah salah satu contohnya. Pernikahan dini yang menyerang anak-anak disebabkan oleh banyak faktor seperti faktor sosial-budaya, ekonomi dan agama. Lembaga pemerhati anak menyebut perkawinan anak di Indonesia sangat mengkhawatirkan. Dalam rangka menanggulangi isu tersebut, Tim Burnout Chaos menyampaikan aspirasinya lewat poster digital pendidikan yang mengangkat tema pernikahan dini pada pelajar usia dini. Poster yang berjudul “When The Mother is a Child” menampilkan sosok anak perempuan yang kehilangan harapan dan cita�cita di usia muda akibat pernikahan dini. Selain visual anak perempuan, ada beberapa objek-objek visual lain yang mendukung pesan pada poster. Analisis objek visual dan objek verbal dibutuhkan untuk turut mengupas pesan di balik poster “When The Mother is a Child”. Dalam penelitian ini, ilustrasi dari poster “When The Mother is a Child” akan dibedah menggunakan teori analisis oleh Roland Barthes. Metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif digunakan dalam menyusun penelitian ini. Untuk teknik pengumpulan data, penulis menggunakan observasi, wawancara, studi pustaka dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menemukan bahwa pada poster “When The Mother is a Child” menampilkan simbol benda�benda yang identik dengan pernikahan seperti riasan, sanggul dan tusuk konde yang menggambarkan acara pernikahan itu sendiri. Simbol benda bertema pendidikan seperti seragam, foto bersama teman sekolah serta note mencoba menyampaikan bagaimana seorang anak semestinya memiliki hak pendidikan. Selain itu terdapat simbol lain seperti bayangan hitam dan note tanda seru yang hadir untuk menegaskan bahwa isu tersebut menggentayangi dan berbahaya bagi anak-anak
