Abstract
Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang efektivitas program promosi terhadap peningkatan jumlah pengunjung di Museum Kebangkitan Nasional melalui rangkaian Era Baru Kebangkitan 2023. Kegiatan ini dilakukan sebagai upaya untuk menarik minat masyarakat berkunjung ke museum dengan kegiatan non-collection based. Penelitian ini didasari oleh pendekatan museologi baru yang mengutamakan museum visitor’s experience atau pengalaman pengunjung dalam program-program museum yang inklusif, humanis, dan partisipatoris, sebagaimana yang dijelaskan oleh Peter Vergo dan Christina Kreps. Program promosi ini efektif dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pengunjung Museum Kebangkitan Nasional, namun mengakibatkan menurunnya fungsi koleksi sebagai objek pasif museum.
English Abstract
This research examines the effectiveness of a promotional program aimed at increasing visitor numbers to the National Awakening Museum through the New Era of Awakening 2023 series. The study focuses on attracting public interest in visiting the museum using non-collection-based activities. It is grounded in a new museological approach that prioritizes inclusive, humanistic, and participatory visitor experiences in museum programs, as described by Peter Vergo and Christina Kreps. The findings indicate that the promotional program is effective in boosting visitor numbers to the National Awakening Museum. However, it has resulted in a decline in the museum's function as a passive collection object. This highlights a dilemma in modern museum management where efforts to enhance accessibility and appeal to visitors may compromise or alter the traditional focus on museum collections.
