Fajari, Mukhamad Bustomi (2024) Studi Pengelolaan Ekonomi Berbasis Masjid Sebagai Pusat Peradaban dalam Mencapai Kesejahteraan: Analisis Masjid Kontemporer Jogokariyan dan Al-Falah Sragen. Magister thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
This research discusses how mosques, which are the center of civilization, manage their economy. In many regions, the multidimensional function of mosques is degrading as most of them focus on ubudiyyah and do not carry out other inherent roles in muammalah, tarbiyyah, tsaqofah, and hadhoroh. Further, the downgrading is also accompanied by their financial dependency from charities and their inability to be productive in mobilizing the accumulating idle cash. In fact, they have a great potential of becoming the central of activity for Indonesians, who are mostly Muslims. The Ministry of Religious Affairs has recorded that there are 298.024 widely spread across the country. Fortunately, Jogokariyan mosque and Al-Falah mosque of Sragen, which succeed in playing the multifunctional roles of mosque and becoming the public’s civilization centers, stand out as appealing phenomena. The objective of this qualitative case study is to identify how these mosques manage their economy and achieve their wellbeing. The results lead to the discovery of the three aspects of mosque-based economic management; they are (1) transformation of the mosques into the central of civilization, (2) mosquebased production activities, and (3) ististmar, which is investment on Islamic Social Finance (ISF) or mosque-based social funds.
