Pengembangan Aplikasi Pelatihan Pengucapan Bahasa Inggris di Sekolah Menengah Atas Berbasis Platform iOS Menggunakan SFSpeechRecognizer

Abstract

Berdasarkan survey yang dilakukan terhadap siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) Negeri 1 Denpasar terkait dengan pengembangan aplikasi pelatihan pengucapan bahasa inggris dengan total 60 orang responden yang terbagi atas 38 perempuan dan 22 laki-laki, 51,7% dari total keseluruhan responden merupakan pengguna perangkat berbasis iOS yang juga memiliki pengalaman dalam menggunakan aplikasi pembelajaran bahasa inggris. 46,7% dari total responden memiliki permasalahan dalam berbicara bahasa inggris dengan 55% dari total responden mengharapkan adanya aplikasi yang dapat membantu dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dalam pengucapan bahasa inggris. Maka dari itu, dikembangkan sebuah aplikasi pelatihan pengucapan bahasa inggris yang ditujukan untuk siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas. Aplikasi dikembangkan dengan metode pengembangan perangkat lunak Prototyping, bahasa pemrograman Swift, penyimpanan data melalui Firebase, dengan arsitektur MVC (Model-View-Controller). Prototipe dari aplikasi diuji dengan menggunakan Maze kepada calon pengguna dan aplikasi akhir diuji dengan pengujian akurasi dan pengujian usabilitas. Pengujian akurasi dilakukan dengan penilaian kesesuaian akurasi pengucapan dalam aplikasi dengan pengucapan responden yang dilakukan oleh guru atau mahasiswa di bidang bahasa inggris. Pengujian usabilitas dilakukan dengan scenario-based testing untuk mengukur efektivitas penggunaan aplikasi dan system usability scale untuk mengukur tingkat kepuasan pengguna yang diujikan kepada calon pengguna. Pada pengujian akurasi, didapatkan hasil kesesuaian tingkat akurasi 88,2%. Pada pengujian usabilitas, didapatkan tingkat efektivitas aplikasi 100% dengan tingkat kepuasan pengguna 94,5% sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa aplikasi pelatihan pengucapan bahasa inggris dapat membantu dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dalam pengucapan bahasa inggris.

English Abstract

Based on a survey conducted on students of Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) 1 Denpasar related to the development of English pronunciation learning applications with a total of 60 respondents divided into 38 women and 22 men, 51.7% of the total respondents were iOS-based device users who also had experience in using English learning applications. 46.7% of the total respondents have problems in speaking English with 55% of the total respondents expecting an application that can help in improving comprehension in English pronunciation. Therefore, an English pronunciation training application was developed aimed at high school students. The application is developed with Prototyping software development method, Swift programming language, data storage via Firebase, with MVC (Model-View-Controller) architecture. The prototype of the application is tested using Maze to potential users and the end application is tested with accuracy testing and usability testing. Accuracy testing is carried out by assessing the suitability of pronunciation accuracy in the application with the pronunciation of respondents carried out by teachers or students in the field of English. Usability testing is carried out with scenario-based testing to measure the effectiveness of using the application and a system usability scale to measure the level of user satisfaction tested to potential users. In the accuracy test, the results of the suitability of the accuracy rate of 88.2% were obtained. In the usability test, the effectiveness rate of the application was 100% with a user satisfaction rate of 94.5% so that it can be concluded that the English pronunciation learning application can help in improving comprehension in English pronunciation.
