Abstract
English Abstract
Public transportation refers to vehicles that are public and can be used by everyone. Public transportation should be equipped with a tracking system so that users can easily determine the whereabouts of these vehicles. The conventional tracking system is performed by placing GPS devices on the entire fleet of vehicles. However, this method is considered inefficient due to the high costs required for its implementation and maintenance. The tracking system for public transportation can be established using BLE Beacon devices installed on the vehicles. Furthermore, at several vehicle stops, a system has been implemented to detect BLE signals emitted by the vehicles, known as "station nodes". These nodes are interconnected using LoRa communication protocol, enabling them to exchange data. The station node acting as the sink is connected to a local server via MQTT protocol. Test results demonstrate that all station nodes can detect BLE signals from the BLE Beacon devices installed on the vehicle. This information is transmitted using LoRa protocol, ensuring the data reaches the sink node. The success rate of data reception at the sink node is 86.6% from station node 1, 93.3% from station node 2, 100% from station node 3, and 100% from station node 4. Data received at the sink node then forwarded to the local server with a success rate of 100%.
