Abstract

HIV/AIDS (Human Immudodeficincy Virus/Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) menjadi ancaman kesehatan dunia. Infeksi HIV menyerang sistem kekebalan tubuh sehingga penderita membutuhkan pengobatan ARV (Antiretroviral). Status gizi pasien merupakan salah satu prediktor keberhasilan terapi ARV. Status gizi dapat diukur melalui Indeksi massa Tubuh (IMT). Keterlibatan IMT dengan imunitas seseorang dapat menjadi prediktor keberhasilan terapi ARV. Pemeriksaan jkakaumlah CD4 digunakan untuk mengevaluasi derajat imunodefisiensi pasien. Penelitian ini bersifat analitik korelasi dengan pendekatan potong lintang yang bertujuan mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan antara indeks massa tubuh (IMT) dan jumlah CD4 pada 45 subjek penelitian yang berasal dari Poli Penyakit Dalam RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa IMT memiliki hubungan signifikan positif dengan jumlah CD4 dan nilai koefisien korelasi bersifat lemah (0.398). Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah IMT berkorelasi dengan jumlah CD4 pada pasien HIV/AIDS dalam pengobatan ARV dan dapat dimanfaatkan untuk kepentingan keberhasilan terapi ARV.

English Abstract

HIV/AIDS (Human Immunodeficiency Virus/Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) is a health threat in the world. HIV infection attacks the immune system so patients need ARV (Antiretroviral) treatment. The patient's nutritional status is one predictor of the success of ARV therapy. Nutritional status can be measured through the Body Mass Index (BMI). The involvement of BMI in a person's immunity can predict the success of ARV therapy. CD4 count examination is used to evaluate the patient's degree of immunodeficiency. This research is an analytical correlation with a cross-sectional approach to determine whether there is a relationship between body mass index (BMI) and CD4 levels in 45 research subjects from the Internal Medicine Polyclinic of Dr. Saiful Anwar. Based on the study's results, it was found that BMI had a significant positive relationship with CD4 levels and the correlation coefficient value was weak (0.398). This study concludes that BMI correlates with CD4 levels in HIV/AIDS patients on ARV treatment and can be used for the benefit of successful ARV therapy.
