Abstract

RINGKASAN Perubahan iklim merupakan isu lingkungan yang mengancam keberadaan manusia dan lingkungan. Perubahan iklim yang mempengaruhi fenomena cuaca berdampak negatif pada sumber daya pertanian, sumber daya air, kesehatan manusia, penipisan lapisan ozon, vegetasi dan tanah, yang mengarah pada meningkatnya konsentrasi karbon dioksida di ekosistem. Sebagian besar peningkatan temperatur rata-rata global sejak pertengahan abad ke-20 kemungkinan besar disebabkan oleh meningkatnya konsentrasi gas rumah kaca akibat aktivitas manusia melalui efek rumah kaca. Maka dari itu, perubahan iklim harus menjadi fokus semua pihak, tidak hanya pemerintah namun juga masyarakat. Universitas Brawijaya merupakan Universitas negeri dengan jumlah mahasiswa terbanyak di Indonesia dengan jumlah mahasiswa terdaftar program sarjana Universitas Brawijaya per tahun 2020 adalah 56.290. Semakin banyak jumlah mahasiswa, maka kegiatan yang berlangsung di area kampus juga akan semakin padat. Dengan jumlah mahasiswa yang semakin banyak, maka akan mempengaruhi kondisi lingkungan kampus. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari jumlah kendaraan bermotor dan penggunaan listrik dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar yang semakin banyak dan merupakan salah satu penghasil emisi. Aksi mitigasi perubahan iklim dapat dilakukan mulai dari kebiasaaan sehari-hari seperti menggunakan listrik secara bijak dan menghemat penggunaan kendaraan bermotor. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui pengetahuan dan partisipasi mahasiswa Universitas Brawijaya tentang mitigasi perubahan iklim sektor energi dan menganalisis hubungan antara pengetahuan dan partisipasi mahasiswa Universitas Brawijaya tentang mitigasi perubahan iklim sektor energi. Penentuan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Penelitian yang dilakukan akan menganalisis hubungan hubungan antara pengetahuan dan partisipasi mahasiswa Universitas Brawijaya dengan uji korelasi menggunakan bantuan SPSS versi 25. Dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan didapat hasil yaitu tingkat pengetahuan mayoritas mahasiswa Universitas Brawijaya adalah tinggi sebesar 80%, tingkat partisipasi mayoritas mahasiswa Universitas Brawijaya terkait aksi mitigasi perubahan iklim sektor energi adalah menengah sebesar 60%, dan tidak terdapat hubungan antara pengetahuan dan partisipasi mahasiswa Universitas Brawijaya tentang mitigasi perubahan iklim sektor energi.

English Abstract

SUMMARY Climate change is an environmental issue that threatens the existence of humans and the environment. Climate change affecting weather phenomena negatively impacts agricultural resources, water resources, human health, depletion of the ozone layer, vegetation and soil, leading to increased concentrations of carbon dioxide in ecosystems. Most of the increase in global average temperature since the mid-20th century is most likely due to increased concentrations of greenhouse gases due to human activities through the greenhouse effect. Therefore, climate change must be the focus of all parties, not only the government but also society. Brawijaya University is a state university with the largest number of students in Indonesia with the number of students enrolled in the Brawijaya University undergraduate program as of 2020 is 56,290. The more the number of students, the activities that take place in the campus area will also be more crowded. With an increasing number of students, it will affect the condition of the campus environment. This can be seen from the increasing number of motorized vehicles and the use of electricity in teaching and learning activities and is one of the emitters. Climate change mitigation actions can be carried out starting from daily habits such as using electricity wisely and saving on the use of motorized vehicles. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the knowledge and participation of Brawijaya University students about climate change mitigation in the energy sector and analyzing the relationship between knowledge and participation of Brawijaya University students about climate change mitigation in the energy sector. The determination of the sample was carried out using a purposive sampling technique. The research conducted will analyze the relationship between knowledge and participation of Brawijaya University students with a correlation test using SPSS version 25. From the research that has been done, the results are that the knowledge level of the majority of Brawijaya University students is high at 80%, the participation rate of the majority of Brawijaya University students related to climate change mitigation actions in the energy sector is medium at 60%, and there is no relationship between knowledge and participation of Brawijaya University students on climate change mitigation in the energy sector.
