Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis dan kelimpahan mikroalga di Pantai Pasir Putih Remen, Kabupaten Tuban, Jawa Timur berdasarkan karakteristik habitatnya, kolom air, sedimen pasir, dan substrat batuan. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh aktivitas pemanfaatan perairan sekitar terhadap kelimpahan mikroalga di Pantai Pasir Putih Remen. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan manfaat ekologis dalam memahami ekosistem di Pantai Pasir Putih Remen, khususnya sebagai bioindikator perairan dan produktivitas perairan. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi mengenai keterkaitan lingkungan perairan dengan keragaman mikroalga yang ada di Pantai Pasir Putih Remen, serta menambah data klasifikasi mikroalga sebagai indikator kesuburan perairan. Penelitian mengenai distribusi mikroalga berdasarkan karakteristik habitat dilakukan di Pantai Pasir Putih Remen, Kabupaten Tuban, Jawa Timur. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada tanggal 18 Maret dan 1 Mei 2023 pada pukul 09.00 WIB saat air laut pasang dan pada pukul 13.00 WIB saat air laut surut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pengumpulan data primer melalui observasi dan dokumentasi. Sampel mikroalga diambil dari habitat kolom air, sedimen pasir, dan substrat batuan menggunakan teknik pengambilan yang sesuai dengan masing-masing habitat. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa di Pantai Pasir Putih Remen, terdapat 17 genus mikroalga yang berasal dari 5 kelas yang berbeda. Kelas-kelas tersebut adalah Bacillariophyceae (dengan 13 genus), Chrysophyceae (1 genus), Cyanophyceae (2 genus), Trebouxiophyceae (1 genus), dan Zygnematophyceae (1 genus). Tingkat kelimpahan mikroalga berbeda di tiga habitat yang diamati, yaitu kolom air (12.741 sel/L), sedimen pasir (299.908 sel/cm2), dan substrat batuan (445.452 sel/cm2). Genus Navicula menjadi genus yang paling melimpah di berbagai habitat, dengan kemampuan adaptasi yang baik terhadap perubahan suhu, salinitas, arus, dan gelombang. Analisis keanekaragaman menunjukkan nilai indeks keanekaragaman (H') sebesar 1,74, indeks keseragaman (E) sebesar 0,85, dan indeks dominansi (D) sebesar 0,22. Hasil plot NMDS menunjukkan bahwa kelas Bacillariophyceae umumnya ditemukan pada substrat batuan dan sedimen pasir di berbagai stasiun, Chrysophyceae terkait dengan sedimen pasir dan substrat batuan di stasiun 1, Cyanophyceae cenderung ditemukan di habitat kolom air serta sedimen pasir di stasiun 1 dan 3, Trebouxiophyceae hanya ditemukan di habitat kolom air di stasiun 1, dan Zygnematophyceae terkait dengan sedimen pasir dan substrat batuan di stasiun 1. Berdasarkan penelitian distribusi mikroalga di Pantai Pasir Putih Remen, Kabupaten Tuban, Jawa Timur, disimpulkan bahwa terdapat 17 genus mikroalga dari 5 kelas yang berbeda, dengan kelimpahan mikroalga bervariasi di habitat kolom air, sedimen pasir, dan substrat batuan, serta parameter kualitas air seperti pH, suhu, kecerahan, arus, DO, salinitas, nitrat, dan orthofosfat memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap kelimpahan dan distribusi mikroalga.Penelitian selanjutnya di Pantai Pasir Putih Remen, Kabupaten Tuban, Jawa Timur dapat difokuskan pada dinamika populasi mikroalga, pendekatan molekuler, dan peran ekosistem mikroalga dalam jaringan makanan. Diharapkan penelitian ini dapat memberikan sumbangan penting dalam pengelolaan dan konservasi ekosistem pantai yang berkelanjutan.
English Abstract
This research aims to identify the types and abundance of microalgae in Pantai Pasir Putih Remen, Tuban Regency, East Java, based on the characteristics of its habitat, water column, sand sediment, and rock substrate. Additionally, this study aims to analyze the influence of surrounding water utilization activities on the abundance of microalgae in Pantai Pasir Putih Remen. The results of this research are expected to provide ecological benefits in understanding the ecosystem in Pantai Pasir Putih Remen, particularly as bioindicators of water quality and productivity. Furthermore, this research is also expected to provide information regarding the relationship between the aquatic environment and the diversity of microalgae in Pantai Pasir Putih Remen, as well as adding data to the classification of microalgae as indicators of water fertility. The study on the distribution of microalgae based on habitat characteristics was conducted in Pantai Pasir Putih Remen, Tuban Regency, East Java. Sampling was carried out on March 18 and May 1, 2023, at 9:00 AM during high tide and at 1:00 PM during low tide. This study employed a quantitative descriptive method with primary data collection through observation and documentation. Microalgae samples were taken from the water column, sand sediment, and rock substrate habitats using appropriate sampling techniques for each habitat. The study concluded that there are 17 genera of microalgae from 5 different classes in Pasir Putih Remen Beach. These classes are Bacillariophyceae (with 13 genera), Chrysophyceae (1 genus), Cyanophyceae (2 genera), Trebouxiophyceae (1 genus), and Zygnematophyceae (1 genus). The abundance of microalgae varied in the three observed habitats, namely the water column (12,741 cells/L), sandy sediment (299,908 cells/cm²), and rocky substrate (445,452 cells/cm²). The genus Navicula was the most abundant genus in various habitats, exhibiting good adaptability to changes in temperature, salinity, currents, and waves. The diversity analysis showed a diversity index (H') value of 1.74, an evenness index (E) of 0.85, and a dominance index (D) of 0.22. The NMDS plot indicated that the class Bacillariophyceae was generally found on rocky substrates and sandy sediments at various stations. Chrysophyceae was associated with sandy sediments and rocky substrates at station 1. Cyanophyceae tended to be found in the water column habitat and sandy sediments at stations 1 and 3. Trebouxiophyceae was only found in the water column habitat at station 1, and Zygnematophyceae was related to sandy sediments and rocky substrates at station 1. Based on the research on the distribution of microalgae in Pasir Putih Remen Beach, Tuban Regency, East Java, it is concluded that there are 17 genera of microalgae from 5 different classes, with varying abundance of microalgae in the water column, sandy sediment, and rocky substrate habitats. Parameters of water quality such as pH, chlorophyll-a, temperature, brightness, current, DO, salinity, nitrate, and orthophosphate have a significant influence on the abundance and distribution of microalgae.Further research in Pantai Pasir Putih Remen, Tuban Regency, East Java can be focused on the dynamics of microalgae populations, molecular approaches, and the role of microalgae ecosystems in food webs. It is expected that this research will contribute significantly to the management and conservation of sustainable coastal ecosystems in the area.
