Husada, Aldo Jetco and Prof. Dr. Ir. Soemarno, (2022) Kemampuan Tanah Menahan Air Di Berbagai Kerapatan Pohon Penaung Dan Pengaruhnya Terhadap Produksi Kopi Dalam Sistem Agroforestri. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
Wajak Sub-district, Malang District is one of the sub-districts where most of the people cultivate coffee plants. One important factor that supports the growth and development of coffee plants is the condition of the land. The condition of the land needed by coffee plants is land with sufficient water, the condition of the water in the land can be known by knowing the Water Holding Capacity (WHC). Analysis of land management on the ability of soil to retain water in Wajak Sub-district, Malang District was conducted to determine its relationship with coffee plant production in the study area. In addition to this analysis, an analysis was carried out of the relationship between agroforestry- based coffee land management in Wajak Sub-district to the physical and chemical properties that affect the ability of soil to hold water and the relationship between soil holding water and agroforestry-based coffee production in Wajak Sub-district, Malang District. This research was conducted in June 2022 in Wajak Sub-district, Malang District, East Java. Research activities began with a pre-survey by carrying out licensing arrangements, making SPL maps with a basic map of soil type, land slope, and land use along with determining observation points. After that, it was continued with survey activities and soil sampling to analyze texture, bulk density, specific gravity, porosity and field capacity, permanent wilting point and soil organic matter at the Soil Physics Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Brawijaya. After the data was obtained, the value of the soil's ability to hold water was calculated, then a statistical test was carried out by ANOVA and the LSD/BNT follow-up test using R studio. Furthermore, correlation and regression tests were carried out to analyze the relationship between parameter values and the factors that affect the soil's ability to hold water. Therefore, the statistical data analysis that was carried out was a correlation analysis using R studio and regression on Ms. Excel 2019. Based on the research results, the density of shade trees is significantly related to the value of the ability of soil to hold water and coffee production with PT-1 having the highest value of soil water holding capacity and coffee production, namely 10.24% and 1.92 tons/ha and PT-2 having the values of the soil's ability to hold water and the lowest coffee production were 4.44% and 0.86 tons/ha. The value of the soil's ability to hold water is influenced by several factors such as texture, porosity, organic matter. Porosity has the most significant relationship with the value of the soil's ability to hold water (r = 0.57; p (value) <0.05)
