Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara pertumbuhan ekonomi yang menggunakan variabel Gross Domestic Bruto (GDP) per kapita, dan degradasi lingkungan yang menggunakan variabel tingkat emisi karbon metric/ton di kawasan Asia Tenggara dengan kategori negara High Income Countries dengan menggunakan data time series selama periode tahun 1998-2018. Selain itu, menggunakan beberapa variabel lain sebagai variabel penjelas, yakni tingkat penanaman modal yang diwakilkan dengan tingkat Foreign Direct Invesment (FDI), total pertumbuhan pendududk, dan tingkat pertumbuhan industri. Hasil dari penelitian menggunakan regresi data panel dengan model fix effect dapat membuktikan bahwa EKC berdasarkan hubungan kurva U terbalik antara pertumbuhan ekonomi dan pertumbuhan industri terhadap degradasi lingkungan , terdapat hubungan yang positif. Sedangkan untuk variabel pertumbuhan penduduk dan penanaman modal memiliki hubungan negatif terhadap tingkat degradasi lingkungan berupa peningkatan emisi karbon.
English Abstract
This study aims to analyze the relationship between economic growth using the Gross Domestic Gross (GDP) per capita variable, and environmental degradation using the variable level of carbon emission metric / ton in the Southeast Asian region with the category of High Income Countries. using time series data during the period 1998-2018. In addition, it uses several other variables as explanatory variables, namely the level of investment represented by the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) level, the total growth of investors, and the growth rate of the industry. The results of the study using panel data regression with a fix effect model can prove that ECC is based on the relationship of the inverse U curve between economic growth and industrial growth to environmental degradation, there is a positive relationship. Meanwhile, the variables of population growth and investment have a negative relationship with the level of environmental degradation in the form of an increase in carbon emissions.
