Libriyanto, Ananta Dwi and Dr. Ir. Zaenal Kusuma (2023) Kajian TSS (Total Suspended Solid ) dan TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) Air Irigasi pada Daerah Irigasi di Kabupaten Sukoharjo. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

English Abstract

The condition of land use in Sukoharjo Regency which is used in various sectors has an impact on water quality. The existence of waste disposal from residential, industrial, and, agricultural areas and erosion events has an impact on reducing the quality of irrigation water. The condition of the quality of irrigation water physically can be seen from the level of turbidity. Knowing the level of water turbidity can be done by testing the TSS (Total Suspended Solids) and TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) parameters. The purpose of this study was to determine changes in the value of TSS and TDS content in irrigation water used for agricultural irrigation needs. This research was carried out from July to November 2022 in irrigation networks at five observation locations in Sukoharjo Regency. The sampling locations were coded A, B, C, D, and E, having distances of 1.3 km, 1.9 km, 5.4 km, 4.9 km, and 6.5 km from the Bengawan Solo river, respectively. This study used a survey method and direct sampling of water in irrigation networks. The determination of the water sampling location takes into account irrigation conditions related to the stability of the discharge during the survey and the distance from the Bengawan Solo river to the water sampling point. Water quality parameters include TSS and TDS taken every two weeks for three periods or for six weeks by taking 1 liter of water sample at each location. Analysis of slope conditions in Sukoharjo Regency was carried out by analyzing the slope map. Water quality analysis was carried out at the environmental laboratory of Perum Jasa Tirta 1, Surakarta City. Analysis of TSS and TDS data was carried out in comparison with the national water quality standards in the government regulation of the Republic of Indonesia number 22 of 2021. Water quality as seen from the TSS parameter tends to be high at locations A and B. Location A has TSS values in the early, middle, and late periods of 168 mg/L, 483 mg/L, and 290 mg/L respectively, at location B 122 mg /L, 33 mg/L, and 667 mg/L. TDS tended to be high at locations A, B, and C. Location A had TDS values in the early, middle, and late periods of 172 mg/L, 218 mg/L, and 226 mg/L, respectively, at location B 331 mg/L, 294 mg/L, and 318 mg/L, at location C 139 mg/L, 296 mg/L and 307 mg/L. There is a tendency for high TSS and TDS content in locations A, B, and C because these locations have quite a variety of land uses, such as urban, residential, industrial, and agricultural areas. Locations A, B, and C which are downstream are also a factor in the tendency for high TSS and TDS due to the accumulation of water flowing from upstream of the Bengawan Solo river.
