Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui karakteristik produksi rumput gajah merah (Pennisetum purpureum cv. Red) pada tanah dan kombinasi kascing sebagai media tanam. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah stek batang rumput gajah merah sebanyak 25 unit yang terdiri dari 3 ruas. Percobaan mengikuti Rancangan Acak Lengkap yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan: P0 (100% Tanah), P1 (75% Tanah + 25% Vermikompos), P2 (50% Tanah + 50% Vermikompos), P3 (25% Tanah + 75% Vermikompos) , dan P4 (100% Vermikompos). Persentase tersebut diperoleh dari total media tanam (2 kg) yang diisikan ke dalam polybag tempat penanaman potongan rumput. Setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 5 kali. Data yang terkumpul dilakukan analisis variansi dan uji beda nyata terkecil. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) tinggi tanaman, tetapi berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) rasio daun-batang dan berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) jumlah anakan, jumlah daun, dan produksi DM tanaman. batang, daun dan herba. Perlakuan P3 memberikan hasil tertinggi untuk tinggi tanaman, jumlah anakan, jumlah daun, produksi bahan kering (BK) daun, batang, serta herba. Rasio daun-batang tertinggi ditemukan pada P0.

English Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the production characteristics of red napier grass (Pennisetum purpureum cv. Red) on soil and vermicompost combination as planting media. The material used in this study was 25 units of red elephant grass stem cuttings consisting of 3 segments. The experiment followed Fully Randomized Design consisted of 5 treatments: P0 (100% Soil), P1 (75% Soil + 25% Vermicompost), P2 (50% Soil + 50% Vermicompost), P3 (25% Soil + 75% Vermicompost), and P4 (100% Vermicompost). The percentage was from the total planing media (2 kg) filled in polybag in which cutting of the grass was planted. Each treatment was replicated 5 times. The collected data were subjected to analysis of variance and least significant different test. The results showed that treatments did not significantly affect (P>0.05) plant height, but significantly affect (P<0.05) leaf-stem ratio and highly significantly affect (P<0.01) number of tillers, number of leaves, and DM production of stem, leaf and herbage. P3 treatment gave highest results for plant height, number of tillers, number of leaves, dry matter production (DM) of leaves, stems, as well as herbage. Highest leaf-stem ratio was found at P0.
